oh dear newbie with vista

I'm new to the whole flight sim thing and have just installed cfs3.
I am running Vista 32 and it doesn't like what I'm doing. The 'puter freezes.

On first shot it closed down and I can't get past the settings page. I imagine this might not be news and thought I'd ask, since I could not see any obvious answers on my first look around the forum:confused:

Try running it under Windows XP (Service Pack 2) compatible mode (Properties) and 'Run as Administrator'....

See if that helps..

Remember, the multiplaying part is still unworkable ('mismatched aircraft error') but here's the trick:

I run Vista Ultimate 64 bit, and when I ran into the no-start problem, I uninstalled the CFS3 completely and re-installed it + all the expansions again (took me half a day too :) ).......you might give it a try....

Have you disabled UAC while trying to run CFS3 or its derivatives? Make sure to re-enable UAC before going on the internet.
