I received updates for both payware Phantoms today. Have only had time to install one of them, but it would be so cool to have a repaint for the first backseat ride I ever had, which was in NATC F-4J BUNO 153088.
Although I did find a photo of the aircraft, NATC made some small changes to the paint scheme after I left the base in 1976. But here are some photos of the other Phantoms which were there at the time. The only difference was the BUNO. I can't recall if BUNO 153088 originally had a black, gray, or white nose. But I DO know that when I was at Patuxent River, before the base reorganized, that all their aircraft nose modex numbers were the last three numbers of their BUNOs . After the base reorganized around 74, was when modex's were painted to reflect fleet aircraft. NC

Hey Pete,
Did you get any takers?
If not, I'll take a stab at a it. I'll have to dust off my paint kit but just tell me how you want it - radome color, modex type, BuNo, etc. Oh, and this would be for the "J" only as I don't have the "B".

Thanks Duckie! Nope, no takers yet. I would say make the radome color white. Modex would be 088. Buno is 153088. Note: paint scheme for aircraft would be the same as the aircraft in my post. Thanks!! Pete

You got it.
One more question. The Star and Bars on the wings: on 7286 there is no white outline or cut-out around the Star and Bar. On 077 there is. Which do you prefer, with the white surround or without?

Good catch! I think go with the white outline, as on 077. Thanks Duckie! Pete
