Okay,
I have finished the last campaign mission of the Tuskegee Airmen and sent it along to Rami for finalization.

All total, there are 100 missions to the three campaigns taking us from North Africa, to Sicily, to Italy. Rami and I have done everything we can to make them as accurate historically as CFS2 will allow. Achim has made all of the airbases we needed to make them as accurate as CFS2 will allow. SopwithC has made the TA skins as accurate as possible.

I will tell you all up front, these are FPS eaters. There are massive amounts of aircraft in some missions. As always, Rami has brought me back to reality when my builds cost too much in FPS. Some of us will still have to shutdown all background programs and just run CFS2 ONLY in order to be able to fly the missions.

I am running an Intel 2.4Gig CPU, 1Gig nVidia GeForce 9800GT card, and have 4Gigs of RAM. Even so, I have had to shut down some background programs and disconnect from the internet to maintain 25-40 FPS on some missions.

Once Rami does his magic and returns the missions, the FPS do climb a bit, so not to worry. Now that they are all done, we will rewrite some of the larger FPS hogs and do "lite" versions and upload them for those with more conventional PCs.

We are also working to reduce the number of add-ons needed. I have even thought about doing what the original Crimea authors did; (send me a blank CD-RW and I will zip everything down and mail it back).

For those that already have TA 1 and 2, that may not be necessary.

What I can tell you is this: Install ALL of Achim's airbases. Install Sander's scenery with add-ons required by his readme. Install ALL of Ettico's Euro Targets and the required add-ons contained in his readme.

And, something that will make these missions even more realistic, install simonu's seasons textures and activate/deactivate for the months of the missions.

BTW, you will NEED to manage your fuel consuption and ammo expenditure during the missions. Don't say I did not warn you.........:ernae:

Just so you know where we stand...

Devildog,

I am going through the entire Tuskegee campaign one more time, working on goals and stuff like that. Pack I is already posted on my site, pack II will be today. Bomber escort now includes a hitch...if your responsible bomber flight gets more than 50% damage, you lose and the mission ends. There are also occasional changes in the way in which you get congratulatory messages, even "either this goal or that" stuff.

Furthermore, missions that involve fighter sweeps and bomber intercepts will now have an ammo trigger. If you run out of ammo, it triggers a warp back home. If you don't get any kills, you fail the mission. If you do have kills, you're okay.

I wish I knew how to do all of this stuff before!

Andrew
