I have been looking for a 737 since I got the news the other day about Coulson's new tanker. I see Quality wings has one but not sure when it will be done. I would do the livery but the milviz is the older model with the long engines. If I can find a 300 with winglets ill do the paint. :applause:

I've done some quick searching and TDS has a Boeing 737 - 700 base aircraft in FSX. A cockpit would have to be added to the TDS model but it looks like it is set up to do so. Also found a Boeing 737-300 with winglets by enigma but it is in FS2004. I run a std. FSXA with Orbx and had no problems. I'm interested in this project as well. Harley Dude

Tankerguy, In reference to the Enigma B737-300. I found it in FlightSim.com search Boeing 737-300 complete aircraft. It came up as a US Air B737-300 with and without winglets. It is a FS2004 model. FYI I added the retardant effect to it and it worked great. ( My apologies to US Air). Enigma Simulations was going to release the B737-300 but merged with Quality Wings before doing so. The US Air model seem to fly well, has a 2d cockpit, but no virtual cockpit. I am in the process of trying to locate a paint kit for the 2004 Enigma B737-300.

I'm also interested in this repaint, and the 737-300. I have been searching on the net also, and as mentioned the only commercial models seem to be the Wilco package and the upcoming Quality Wings version. Freeware; there seems to be a number of models around, but none with a VC, and none FSX native. I found a base package on Simviation: VL_737-300_BasePack.zip and I am in the process of trying to convert that so it is able to be merged with a VC.

Found a 737-300. May be meant for AI but decent enough for me to start work on it.

Heres a WIP

Love the paintwork so far Tankerguy!

A few bugs need ironing out, as I'm just learning how to do the conversion process, but the base model from Simviation (VL_737-300_BasePack.zip) could be a candidate also.

Converted in Model Converter X (but I need to do it again to fix some animations etc, this was a test run), and using a 737-800 VC merged to the converted FSX model. I need to add the VC textures and another sound set also.

edit: Hmm. Just noticed the model I have doesn't have winglets.

Tankerguy, I tried both of the Friends of Flight B737s and neither one had winglets. If you go to the textures however you can see them. Possibly the wrong model? Where do we stand on an aircraft? And What are our options at this point?

Ok, thats what I thought. I am using the FAIB 737-300 with winglets. If you guys like that one I can finish up this paint and release it for that one.

Here is another idea when this one is done. Please note no guns or turrets. Model is FS Cast B-17F.

That's a shame. I was going by the thumbnail pic as I hadn't yet loaded that model up. So I couldn't find any other non-ai version with winglets. The Quality Wings future release is looking pretty good at this stage ;) .

That looks amazing Tankerguy!

Yes, please release it. I suppose some conversion should be possible even with an ai version to make it compatible with another VC. The air file would have to be changed too to make it more flyable, as I have read that ai air files aren't for humans :biggrin-new:. I would suggest releasing as is for now, and maybe someone can add other details to that model later on. I guess you'll just be releasing the paint anyway?

Hey Tankerguy,

I just looked at the model I have and the package is called "faib_b7373v11.zip". That contains 3 FS9 and 3 FSX models including a FSX 737-300 winglets model, named "FAIB7373W.MDL". Is that the one you are painting?

That model seems to already be in FSX format, so it should be easy for anyone to add their own VC, air file, and sound from another 737 model.

Yes that is the one I have. There is also a paintkit for it.

it is flyable. It does not have a 2D or VC. If anyone wants to add those to it they can. Im just the painter :mixed-smiley-010:

Great stuff! Glad you guys are enjoying it. I was chasing fires all weekend and finally got my first drop pic of the 2017 season. It was only about a 2 acre fire and I got there in time for one drop from a S-2T but its a start.

After trying a few combinations, I am using the FAIB model with it's air file, and a customised aircraft.cfg to fix a few things such as fuel quantities, along with a few tweaks. I have merged the "FSND_FSX-B737Upgraded_Cockpit" by Alejandro Rojas Lucena, and the "sound_cfm56.zip" sound set by Ismail Zayan Shakeeb.

Very happy with it now!
