It is with a very heavy heart that I have to announce the passing of Ian Warren. Many of you here will remember Ian as a long-time member and poster. We will remember him as a friend, beta tester and a major contributor to us at Aeroplane Heaven for many years. Ian was ex RNZAF, an aviation artist, and as passionate a simmer as you are ever likely to find. Party on mate. :engel016:

Can't say how sorry I am to hear this. One of the best - and nicest, and most forthcoming - members of the community. I truly enjoyed our conversations over the years. What a huge loss. RIP, Ian... and thanks, Baz, for letting us know.

Ian was an alround nice guy and he will be greatly missed. My thoughts and condolences to his family and friends. I've also replied in the Ickie's Newshawks forum thread but for Ian, two threads would never be too many.

Good to see you here Baz, although on a very somber note.

Greatly enjoyed Ian's posts. He had a nice turn of phrase, even when he disagreed on a subject. So sad to lose another keen flyer, who shared his passion with all of us. Heart goes out to his family.

Sadly I think many of us here are getting to the stage where we are not long for this earth. The best one can do is enjoy it for as long as you can, and help others - just as Ian did - to enjoy it too.

Sad news indeed. I first got to know Ian through the FSAddon beta testing page and the JF beta team. I also greatly enjoyed his contribution to those sites as well as here at SOH.

We also had some friendly Trans Tasman banter especially when the All Blacks and the Black Caps played each other in Rugby or cricket.

Fly free my friend. Blue skies and good tailwinds.

This is terrible news. It was just recently that Ian and myself along with others were beta testing together. I am really shocked and saddened to hear this news. My deepest sympathies to all who knew him. He will be missed.

Indeed, shock and disbelief. Like us all fond memories of many discussions on line with Ian over the years, he was in his inimitable way almost MR NZ Flight SIM. His contribution to the sim world will be missed. I have at least some of his work in my hangar and scenery and for that I am grateful. My condolences to family, friends and colleagues.
