Great pics Rick, Thor Hammer's Rafale is a fantastic creation both today and when it arrived. The aircraft made by Thor, Kirk Olsson and Roland Laborie (Rollus) are classics and way ahead of their time. I still fly them in P3D.

Two Questions:

Can you provide the download link?
Since there is no VC,what VC did you aliase since the F=18 is not in P3D

Thanks

Rick

The best I could do from my search is Beta 2.1. Get it HERE!!! (http://www.flight-simulator-world.org/download/fsx-rafale-m-beta-2-1-thor-s-hammer/)

There may be a Beta 2.2 but couldn't find it. Mine is 2.1. There may be some model upgrades out there. Check the French FSX sites.

Been a while since I have flown her so not sure about the VC.

You Can get both versions here 2.1 and 2.2. In the "Readme File" gives info on VC set up.

Thanks for reminding me of this one. I shoehorned in the VC from Rolland's Wasp (http://secure.simmarket.com/rlaborie-wasp_f1-b.phtml). It seems to fit very well, except for the fire warning issue.
You can find details on Frank's site here (http://mirage4fs.com/rafale_all.html) - including the V2.2 update.

At the moment I wont say what VC I'm using. But it fits extremely well. ;) this is a great external. I'm sorting out TP integration ATM.

@000rick000 any chance you could work your magic and create a paintkit for this beauty please?

Added FA-18 to p3D
Added .dll file to gauges folder in P3d

VC works great now in the Rafale......

Neat bird :encouragement: One thing, to me it looks like it's too bright or too much glare on the tail area or does that look okay? I'm in P3D V3.4.
If so, then what do I change to tone the glare down a notch?

It's correct. It was like that it fsx too. You would need to edit each specuar file individually to.change it...but that only based on how things work ideally. I haven't looked at the files in detail. The model could be implemented this way, and in a case like that there's nothing you can do. I don't think that is the case here though. If there are speculars, the quick and dirty method of making it less bright would.be to edit the alpha channel of the specular textures and make them overall less black. I would do a levels adjustment in photoshop and move the overall darkness shader from the left towards the white spectrum on the right. Note the precise level number and repeat the same for every affected texture.

Here is couple more

https://s23.postimg.org/a1zfjb0yz/Trap.jpg

Seems like too much glare on left wing. I hope that is normal otherwise I'd have to figure out how to tone it down to where the left wing is not so bright and looses detail in paint where the bright areas are.

Nice shots. The Rafale did visit the Enterprise so an appropriate choice of venue.

Would it be possible for some kind person to send me a copy of the F-18 "INTERIOR" model that has been modified to remove the red nav light from in front of the noseleg. It is the only thing that otherwise spoils a great aircraft. Thanks in advance.

I got that very one from that very post..... Dave. Trying to make since out of the directions; a bit nebulous.
From what I can tell, the directions for that file are for installing a HUD and not a cockpit.

EDIT: This is only a HUD install and nothing more

http://jelair.jelstudio.dk/HUD2010/

Again, I am asking for any info or link as to where I can obtain a COMPLETE virtual or 2D cockpit suitable for the Rafale Dussault.

Go here: http://mirage4fs.com/rafale_all.html

Scroll down to October 2011. Yes, there are a lot of aircraft listed. It is an ongoing history of sorts. An obsession if you will. :biggrin-new:

Find the one that has a gray background and in the text the words, "Instructions for merging alternate VC's to the Rafale."

Click on the work Instructions and save the text file to your desktop to refer to. Full instructions (Thanks to the folks here at SOH) are there.

Hope this helps.

I have downloaded the notepad application required to modify the model CFG to remove the red light at the front of the noseleg. Just one question, if I run the notepad application will it effect any other documents in my FSX setup i.e. CFG's or texts?

Regards Paul Day.
