...does anyone recall, and have, the old sub hunt mission where you had to find two subs, one surfaced and one submerged. I had it and now it's appears to be gone. great little training for ship missions. If anyone knows where it is please help it to find a new home here.:wavey:

Are you looking for the one Oldwheat did? Atleast I think it was his.

...not sure if it was Old Wheat or he who will not be mentioned here. It was a great little mission to go play with if you only had a little time and wanted to practice ship strikes.

Hey Fibber,

Does this sound familiar?

"You have to fly your Catalina with an escort of 2 hellcats to a US destroyer wich is under attack from a Japanese Submarine and 3 zeros. You are to concentrate on the subs and try not to get shoot down by the zeros when the mission is finished land your plane in the sea next to the destroyer the / button lowers your floats and dont worry the catalina can float in water.
requires the seperate installation of VB_Catalina.zip which can be obtained from www.geocities.com/vbplanes/downloadpage.htm
By Rob Fry"

Regards, hertzie.

...thanks for the pointer, but that is not the one. The one I had is a simple patrol in which you had to find and attack the two subs. I believe that there was a time limit on it. One of the subs was surfaced and would shoot at you. The other had to be found, and attacked, while it was submerged.

Sounds like one of the early missions in the VT-4 campaign flying off USS Ranger... I think it's available at www.flightsim.com (http://www.flightsim.com)

Thanks, but that is not the one either. I first flew this in a TBF, so I am starting to think that this may have been included in a TBF zip long ago and there-fore won't be found on a mission search. I have looked at all the places that I an find to no avail. So I guess that this will be a lost mission. Shame as it was enjoyable to practice with the Sunderland, B-25' s as well as the TBF's etc.
