Robert Waszkiewicz has sent a note to mention that the Deltasim Studio HMS King George V has been released, This is super detailed, native FSX model with moving parts, working turrets and firing cannons. It comes with three virtual cockpits (fire consoles), captain bridge and with the possibility of walking on the entire ship - all in 3D. The model has custom, very accurate textures, gauges and effects. Two models are included, with long range of the fire an with short range of the fire. For more information, please visit Deltasim Studio website http://www.deltasimstudio.com (http://www.deltasimstudio.com)

Congratulations on the release Robert

Very interesting angle on FSX, now that itīs here to stay for longer than expected, these kind of development could trigger a whole new blood line of addons...say virtual "real" navies??

Yes, a very exciting development, just wish they had done an Essex Class Carrier.....

Sat here twiddling my thumbs all evening while the confirmation email sat in my spam box! :costumes:

Worth the wait though as it looks as if I'm one of the lucky First 10 to purchase, I also get the Capricorn and Maltese Falcon thrown in. :applause::wiggle::applause:

Just had time to shuffle along the Scapa Flow and shoot down a few seagulls with the AA's. Will get to grips with her tomorrow, but there has been a fair bit of work gone into the modelling.

Ok, she's a wonderfully modelled ship as we've come to expect from Deltasim. The animations are superb, from the guns which fire, to the hangar doors and boarding ladders. The lighting at night is superb too. But I would like to see more detailed texturing of the "VB" (virtual bridge) in future because everything looks like it's made of plastic and is so lifeless, which really is in direct contrast to the externals.

I've uploaded a small collection of images HERE (http://www.screenshotartist.co.uk/deltasim_hmskinggeorge.htm).

Earlier post i mentioned i scratchbuilt a RC model (aprox 1/144 scale) hence my interest with the KGV , our virtual New Zealand Navy needed a bit of a punch , come to think about it our real RNZN .. umm off course shes on sea trails .

off course we had to try our anti aircraft battery , the dual role secondary arnment , finding the 5.25 guns slower than the USNavys 5inch counterpart

The scratch built 144 model of the KGV must have been a fascinating project. I (have mostly finished....) a scratch built a 1:192 model of USS Alaska, CB1. However as a waterline model.

KGV there looks to be a little light, as are many FSX ships. Most photos of her show the waterline near or at the top of the black boot topping. Max range was quoted as 38,560 yds, which is 19 NM... A question! Do some FSX ships have load stations and do the ride lower in the water with a bigger load?

Looks really good! T.
