View Full Version : Engine Start Switch won't work for Spitfire

I have a custom Spitfire and can't get an engine start switch to kick it over long enough to start.
After trying numerous switches they all seen to last to about 200 RPM and then reset.
CTRL>E. when held to about 350 RPM is enough for a start.

Is there a setting to get a longer crank time..?

OR with a start switch that can be held before auto resetting..? :banghead:

Thanks, tc

I've tried pushing up the torque value to get the RPM in the range where CTRL>E kicks it over and that works but
I needed to fine tune the value.

normalized_starter_torque=0.110

Try increasing starter torque to 0.3.

Unfortunately, MS Flight Sim coding requires the engine to spin to at least 500 rpm in order to start. It's unrealistic with piston engines, but without custom gauge coding there is nothing that can be done to change it. Increase the normalized starter torque value until you achieve 500-550 rpm with the starter switch.

You would hope that the guys over at LM and DTG would have started to correct some of these issues. But alas...
