Altering the stock oh DP so F4F4 has six working .50 instead as I did the F4U1A(see downloads) recently.I worked out the -3 Wildcat to have four working guns easily, but having trouble getting the port guns lined up for some reason. Anyone able to see where am going wrong?

Looking at in DPED, its confusing since the -(port) offset should be on port guns, but are on starboard which are lined up fine when I did some testing but port guns are not and when do add the negative, they go far out of alignment.driving me crazy.Anyone see the issue? Included the DP file as an attachment.Thanks in advance.

The B24 Guy already made a F4F-3 with 4 guns.

I have that plane, it's a treat to fly.I revamped the DP so actually have four guns , as I did the F4U with six. There is a separate entry for each gun now instead of .I noticed the firepower just didnt seem to be there even with the dice raised, and noticed in some P-47 models out there they actually had eight guns and firepower was good representation of what .50's could do on planes, various targets etc.So after flying some engagements and strafing etc in the F4U's I added a separate gun entry for each one, definitely tell the difference. I'm not 100% sure but believe due to the performance disparity in how stock guns are set up(and kept in many models) that planes armed with 6 50 cals actually have 4, and two of them are facades. I believe this because each gun would have tracer enabled, yet would not see tracer fire from all guns, in addition to just not having the "punch" six .50 cal machine guns should have, even with dice raised to appropriate level. I've decided to fix the Wildcats, and Hellcats in addition to the Corsairs, maybe others to make missions plan to release.As mentioned I got the -3 Wildcat to work fine, having trouble with the -4.The F4U's were easy to fix as had an example in the DB F4U1D, he did the same with the guns on the excellent plane.

Something odd is happening now dasuto247. I downloaded the new DP file for the f4f4 you made available at the beginning of this thread but now when I go do release the bombs off of the wings they just disappear. Would you be able to fix this. Love the 6 gun effect now! :)

Ah lol it's a WIP, I forgot to add the bomb back to the DP.I will add it back and release F4F DP's. Trying to get the alignment issue corrected so it looks right.I am close but can't seem to quite get it yet. Glad you enjoy the six guns, makes a real difference I have found, esp on strafing missions and against light planes such as the Zero.

I'm sure that the guns work right so you don't need to mount each gun individually. My guess is that your aim is better as mounting each gun individually gives you more visable bullets. You can just up the number of visable bullets by setting the Tracer up from 40% that the stock F4F-4 has.

Possibly. I did raise he tracer and dice and didnt and used guns how they were originally, nothing seemed to change much.I actually tested individual guns I added without tracer and appear to be much more effective.Could be a perspective thing but I like having individual guns and it is possible aim is better or are seeing more impacts etc. I uploaded DP's with individual guns for F4F, F6F, P-38 and F4U. All were pretty easy to do, -4 gave me a fit , but finally got it.

A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 2 Other Add-Ons

Description: Gives the OH F6F-3 and Allen F6F-5 six individual .50 cal machine guns, as did previous release for F4U1, 1A, and F4F-3/-4.

Also included is revamped DP for OH P-38, four individual .50 cal guns in nose and a 20 MM cannon. Special "strafer" DP's are included.

Sure, I was wondering why the F6f/P-38 fix was up but not the F4F.

UPDATE:I uploaded the F4F gun fix again to the "others" .

So you've noticed the way weapons are added. The dp file allows you to have multiple barrels per gunstation. That is how the old setup was. What you've done is to add each as its own gunstation. With this you can mod it further by adjusting the delay between each gun. You can also fine tune the aiming point. Not that you couldn't before. It just gives more to what we have.

It's Kool to see others get the "bug". Next we'll get you modeling. :devilish: Keep at it man.
