Although not strictly a warbird the Bristol Freighter was used by several air forces and by civilian companies in support of military forces and is worthy of inclusion in the SOH library. The example depicted is of an aircraft of a French colonial company in support of French forces in IndoChina in the early 1950s.

A further issue will depict an example flown by the RNZAF in support of the Kiwi contingent in the 2nd Vietnam war in the early 1970s

Once again this aircraft is a joint effort by UncleTgt and myself (but all the mistakes are mine )

A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 2 Aircraft - British

Description: British twin engined cargo aircraft with nose clamshell doors was used between late 1940s to late 1980s by many civilian companies and various air forces around world. This aircraft represents one used by Air Vietnam in the early 1950s in support of French Union Forces in Indochina. Its most notable feat was helping to transport ten dismantled Chaffee tanks to Dien Bien Phu prior to the battle. Each tank needed two Freighter and six C47 flights to get them there.

This might interest you No Dice

Just uploaded the Mk 31 version of the freighter as flown by RNZAF and also an Air Viet-Nam example, both served in the Viet Nam war. This aircraft includes the Beaufighter sound file which I forgot to alias - so my apologies for a breech of manners.

Hurrah - another gap closed. Thanks muchly good sir. Many schemes can be hung on this old bird. A Freighter, coming into Wellington airport in a howling gale, both Hercules at full song, the plane barely making headway as it rocked and rolled towards the runway coming in from Cook Strait, was a sight never to be forgotten!
