I installed AICarriers and various ai ships, plus Team SDB's Enterprise (1st release) into V5. All looks fine, but none of the ships have a wake effect.
My settings are high enough, so I know that isn't the problem. Any help? Thanks, NC

Version 5 has a LOT of issues. It will likely be a few months before the wizards at LM and 3rd party devs work things out via hotfixes. Hotfix 5.1 made some things better and broke a bunch of others. The devs at LM are aware of what needs fixing, and the forums over there are full of people pointing things out that need working out. Flashing menus and random OOMs and texture separations/blurry textures and floating houses and on and on...
Not too thrilled to have forked out 60 bucks for yet another "paid beta". By the time it's all worked out MSFS will be released making P3d and Xplane look pretty lame.
Expect banging, belching and an occasional manly fart as you roar down the runway at full power. (I have found that the engine can make similar noises)
NC,
OT, kind of - Can't help you with AI Carriers, but with the super carrier module arriving to DCS on Wednesday, we've never seen the detail on the CVN scene that we're about to. It also means if you're an F-14 owner, that the Forestall CV is not for behind from Heatblur. Complete with deck crew as well.
This is the most fair review I've scene of the pre-release version of the Super carrier.

No problems here. Worked right out-of-the-box, so far I can tell.

I'm feeling some deja vu here. Didn't we have a similar conversation before?
Check the sim.cfg of the ship and make sure whatever wake effect that is named is included in the [Effects] folder of P3D v5.
If it isn't, copy it over from wherever it did work.
Here is a shot of the Team SDB Enterprise out of the box in P3Dv5 with our wake. Our Arleigh Burke class Destroyer in the background uses a default wake texture.
.
This is what I see now:
The effect, "fx_CVN65_wake" is in both the Effects folder and listed for the ship itself in the sim.cfg file in the Boats folder. I do see the wake behind the destroyer next to it.
I am befuddled. I tried installing a wake from the Midway carrier from the Fleet Traffic addon. It works, but doesn't look as good as the SDB one. Weird that it is not working.
The screenshot you included, showing the wake behind the Enterprise....it looks like the more recent Enterprise release? The flight deck has Hornets? NC

Go to the Team SDB support forum and download the wake effect that was updated a few years ago for P3Dv4.
That might fix it for you. The link is in the opening post on this thread.

That file I downloaded DID put a wake behind the Enterprise, but I must say the default wake behind the Arleigh Burke destroyer looks much more realistic! NC
The cruises will be 1968 and 1972. Possibility of a mid-70's cruise to get some Tomcats on there as well.
Work began way back in 2016 but real life and other projects by us and our shipbuilder have gotten in the way.
FS2020 will be well out and P3D v5 will be very settled before this thing sees the light of day. This is all way way way down the road.
Prepar3D seems to handle offset values in effects files differently than FSX. That is why the smoke was out of position.
Earlier this year we edited the USS Robison mdl file to correct the issue and use a single effects file with no offset.
Please visit our support forum.

Thanks Frank. I had seen that post on the SDB forum a couple days ago, but had forgotten to download the file to fix the effect; plus, I couldn't remember the name of the destroyer to find the post again! Big help!
Also, thanks to Airtrooper. I will report back later. NC
