I popped for this one right away.

Install went without a hitch. I've flown the new setup in REX weather and AS Next. Both are perfect.

Using AS Next, the volumetric haze is completely convincing without turning on the volumetric option in P3Dv2.4. This leaves more breathing room for the card to concentrate on other tasks.

Flying through the clouds there is no hint of the spinning clouds or other artifacts from previous setups. Transition from light to shadow is seamless.

IMHO the ten bucks is definitely money well spent.

Two thumbs up on this one.

I took it. Havent REX, just textures from Active Sky 2012 (still very good for me). First impression - nothing very special, but looks nice and more "puffy", something else.
Just quick flight in the evening. I wonder that there is no backup option only.

After Nick's shots I decided to buy. I get the download link and serial so then I downloaded and installed. I got an error message during install so I decided to redownload, but guess what...you only get 1 download. So here I go through the support rigmarole.......

    Hello Roger,

If the error message was SQL server Express
    2012x64 Local DB not installed,
I posted this at their forum.
Once this software is installed, it works fine.

If you had uninstalled, you can just run the
setup.exe file again and it will reinstall.

In case anyone else has this problem,

I have fixed this myself by downloading
    and installing
    ENU\x64\SqlLocalDB.MSI, 2012 Edition.

I'm a little confused, I guess, but that's not so unusual. It seems to me that FSX (and FS9) came with "soft" clouds "built in". That's why I downloaded Pablo Diaz's high resolution clouds for FS9, and then stuck them into FSX. All the screen shots of this new cloud set look like the default low res clouds that the sim came with. What's the up side on this one?

Nick's shots show it best. The volumetric effect means that low level clouds clashing with terrain don't show hard edges.

I want to get this but the one download thing has me concerned. The wifi here is so bad it usually takes me 2-3 tries before I can get a file. Recently downloaded orbx pnw and it took me two days and 7 tries before I got it, and yes, I'm also using download helper too!

guess I'll wait until it shows up in other stores to purchase.

    Gman. Long time no see.

From the screens I see great low lying fog. I cannot find
how to get this. There seems to be no option for this. the
only reason I bought this was for the fog/mist,which was
    missing from Rex.

Btw, Thank you for Squamish. Love it. Have been there a few
    times some time ago.

Here is hoping that you can help me about above request.

    Regards.

    Anthin.

Anthin, not using real weather, I set up three layers of cloud in the FsX custom weather menu: a low layer of Stratus, then a medium height layer of cumulous and finally a higher layer of cirrus.

These look very nice I must say. Is this a standalone set (sets) or does it install into REX.. in my case REX E+OD?

Seems to be stand alone Dave. I too have RE + OD and the cirrus layers still seem to be from that.

    Hiya Roger

Thanks for that. Looking again at the spec.. I'd guess you're right as it mentions the ability to start the sim. I wasn't going to buy anything else this year but hey.. what the heck

Hmm.. finally got it installed and running. While the content is very good.. the installer is not their finest hour. I needed both NET.Framework4.5 and SQL Server LocalDB. While the install asks if you'd like to download the former.. it doesn't give any such help with LocalDB. Thanks to the link NC posted above.. I was able to download and install that and run the install routine again. This time.. the first window indicated FSX (Correct) and the second window pointed to my FSX location. While the install location was correct.. the Soft Cloud installer had put a load of rectangle symbols after the root directory. I let the installer run and it spit out a gallon of errors. I ran it again and removed the rectangle symbols and the install finally worked. That's a lot of work for what should be a very simple routine.

    Onwards and upwards!

For interest: Evidently 10 downloads are permitted but in my case I couldn't download more than once before getting the finger wagging message.
