That looks fantastic. The Sea Fury is a fave for me. I can feel a Pac1947 scenario brewing even now...

    Just curious...

Why do you always trash the 2D panel from your re-releases?

It seems to leave the aircraft in an incomplete state.

    Trash

Seems now a days with many different monitor shapes and sizes one size dosent fit all anymore and whats right for one size will leave another distorted no such problem with the 3D cockpit also once I learned you can control all switches from the pop up panels I much perfered it make sure and read the readme and use the F5 and F9 keys (with default CFS2 keyboard layout with FS9/CFS1 layout it should be shift+1,2,3,4 or something like that) also use F3 to cycle HUD in what use to be the 2D panel view.

    Hmmmm... Good point.

I should've figured that, since 2D panels have been driving me to drink lately as I've worked on aircraft with a partner who has a different screen aspect ratio than I have. Since we both value 2D panels, we have to produce two versions of each panel, and one or the other doesn't look right on each of our screens.

As far as I know there are just the two monitor types in common use, regular or "square" 8x6 and "wide angle," which I don't recall the ratio of, but I believe they're pretty much all the same. If anyone has some other aspect ratio, neither of our panels will look right to them.

I know some people don't like a 2D panel and wouldn't ever use one if they had it, and I believe there are still a few holdouts who don't like a VC. It would be simpler if we didn't like one or the other, but we like both, so we kind of have to do the work.

Thank you for humoring my curiosity.

I can appreciate your reasoning for this approach Captmercy. I too get a little bugged sometimes with the wide view distortions encountered with most 2D's. It also complicates gauge placement and dimensions when panel editing.

But while VC mode does eliminate such quirks and gives one a more immersed feeling when panning around in the cockpit (especially when target tracking), i do insist on having that "touchable" feeling i get with the 2D panels.

But again, its nice to see you promoting another option.

Good call Dice...those Sea Fury models have always been my favs

A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 2 Aircraft - American

    Description: FAIRCHILD C-119 for CFS2

    I removed the 2D panel.

Straightened Yoke position with MDLC 2.0 (Allen).

Improved FDE as to compromise between a good Air Freighter and behave fairly well on Autopilot.

Arranged and modified VC gauges to exact as possible per photos and memory

    Credits: Aircraft by Daisuke Yamamoto.

    CFS2 by Chris Noelte.

    Scenery by Steve McClelland.

    Sound by Lawdog2360.

    Hiya CM,

No those are all from the DEI Pack.

The first two are taking off and climbing out from Galela Airfield.

The 3rd is on the ground at Sofifi Airfield and

    Number 4 is over Djailolo

Cheers and thanks again for the new toys!

As a compromise between a complete 2D-panel, that sometimes stands "in the way", but gives you the opportunity of a clearer GPS- or throttle panel, I replace it often with a minipanel, so I can still have a look at the main instruments.

    hertzie.
