    Trucker17 I don't believe you meant any disrespect but I think the proper term is "little people" not midget.

    Sometimes, there are jokes. No reason the PC crowd should be all over them.

    Can't we all just have a laugh? It was a word game for Pete's sake!

    Ahhhh, so "little people" means "midget".
    Interesting. I have seen the term "little people" used to refer to children....but I suppose this is not appropriate either?
    I mean since it would be saying that the children were midgets....or dwarfs?

    Little people is also used in traditional Celtic Folk tales. Especially in Ireland.

    Priller, I am not trying to get PC about this it is just I am disabled and don't appreciate being called a " gimp, spaz or cripple" by people who are not my friends, so I don't think it is fair in a public group to use inappropriate labels on people. Here is a quote from the Little People of America website;

    "The word “midget” was never coined as the official term to identify people with dwarfism, but was created as a label used to refer to people of short stature who were on public display for curiosity and sport. Today, the word “midget” is considered a derogatory slur. The dwarfism community has voiced that they prefer to be referred to as dwarfs, little people, people of short stature or having dwarfism, or simply, and most preferably, by their given name."

    This is all I will say on the matter, except lets get back to Simming.

    I have always thought "dwarf" (outside its heroic fantasy use) was more derogatory than "midget". Thank you for having increased my English skills today.

    No one here called you "gimp, spaz or cripple". No one. And no one will. Get off your high horse, will you?

    But thank you for taking up the defense of the "midgets, dwarfs, little people and hobbits". Your courage is duly noted.
