Amazing cloudscape, DVJ!
FSX always likes to remind us a bit early that it's starting to become that season again...

BF-109 passing "Feldflugplatz" Falaise in Normandy...
(Feldflugplatz Falais is a senery i`m just working on)
Greetings
Klaus
A very welcome addition Klaus , but isn't a Würzburg Riese on a Feldflugplatz a bit over done? <img src="images/smilies/biggrin-new.png" border="0" alt="" title="Biggrin New" smilieid="61" class="inlineimg"><br><br>Cheers,<br>Huub<br><br>< br>
PS And did Oblt. Otto Betram still fly his old Bf109 E-1 when the Würzburger were already appearing in France?
Absolutly right .... the Würzburg is not part of the scenery now. It is moved a little bit west (between Caen and Bayeux) now.
Will try to take another livery for the BF-109 next time (lol).... and as you can see.... the Luftwaffe managed to get two Otto Betram`s with their old Bf109 E-1 at the same place for the same time
Smile
Klaus
Thanks for the quick reply! So this is the Würzurg on its way to Douvres. If you ever have the chance, make sure to visit the museum there. Its really an interesting place.
The German ace Otto Betram was grounded already long before the Würzburg arrived at Douvres. His personal story is quite similar to the story used for "saving private Ryan".
Cheers,
Huub
I know this place. Just been in Normandy 2 weeks ago. Did a visit to Paris and then travel to Normandy to have a look to the sea. Last visit before was about 6 years ago. The landing beaches and all the other places are very interesting. You can`t see everything in just one visit.
Just a little shot from Omaha Beach from the top of a german mg bunker.
Just another word to the Würzburg radar. Just did a little of searching and found this one http://deutschesatlantikwallarchiv.d..._.htm#Calvados
There was a station near falaise with two Würzburg radar and one Freya. Will try to get the right position to build this up in the scenery.
Greetings
Klaus

Two new aircraft for my FSX hanger. Base is Mr Ito's He177. Using an interim cockpit at present but might build one for them.
I have a full load-out for the single fuselage model. Accessible through the load position menu (not drop able).

Fantastic work, Duckie! I really like the refined texturing. That particular one must have been one of the early F6F-3's that entered service in just intermediate blue over white and then later had the tri-color non-specular sea blue added over the top while in service (and later stars & bars added in service as well).

Thanks very much John. It's still. WIP bit Ira getting there.
And you're right. This same aircraft was originally flown by Flatley in int blue over gray as "00". It was updated while in service with air wing 5 aboard Yorktown to the tri-color scheme with the "non-standard" n s sea blue extending down the side to the wing. Many early int blue over gray front line dash 3s were painted in the same manner - with the n s sea blue extending down the side.

I've never been much of a screenshot artist, but sometimes I just can't resist a shot.
Getting a little factory repair work done before the new paint job.
I took this one a few nights ago. Not sure how well it can be seen in a post.
