DCS "Steam" carrier based aircraft needed....

I keep waiting to see USN carrier-based aircraft become available for DCS on Steam. Nothing yet. Plenty of Russian, USAF, US Army aircraft, helos; but no USN. Am hoping some get released soon. I read recently the T-2 was cancelled. Not sure why? DCS for Steam needs the Intruder, Corsair II, Phantom, etc....! NC

Great looking site! I am a little confused, however, as I go to the Downloads section and am not able to actually download any files? Membership required first? NC

    NC,

Right click and "open in new tab", should take you to a Dropbox d/l page. I'm using Firefox.

    Current F-18 is FA-18_113_2.0.zip

I realize you want the SLUF more: SLUFOCT112015.zip.

There is a thread about these mods on the DCS forums you might want to look over (search A-7 mod), also the Stinger's site has install/fly instructions for the mighty A-7E Corsair II.

Thanks so much for your reply. My mistake was not opening in new tab. Got several things downloaded and installed. Now to learn how to use. Quite a steep learning curve for me. SO used to the ease of FS9/FSX! NC

I know the feeling NC, but got the SLUF out with the CQ1 practice mission and trapped, then forgot my key bindings and went off the angle! I've been in the FSX world for the last few months and have to relearn everything after getting the latest 1.5.2 update.

Is it possible to start off on the flight deck, and then do catapult launches in DCS? Pete

NC, I'm using the included vLSO .miz training missions to start on deck. The catapult is using the original DCS Kuznetsov ramp dynamics on CVN-77. Line up with the cat, hold the brakes and then full power (there seems to be an afterburner added to the SLUF), and wait to start flying. The aircraft will pitch up as if it is going up the ski ramp, but continues to accelerate to flying speed. Traps are working normally except for the roll back, after going to MIL, I found out quickly to cut power or else risk rolling into the water. I have not worked the PLAT view yet.

So are the ramp dynamics already incorporated in CVN-77? I had seen a video showing the arresting cable moving, which is nice. Am thinking perhaps someone can adjust the ramp dynamics to eliminate the aircraft "pitch up"? NC

Still researching, but right now that is the only way to launch, from CATs 1/2 via a "ski jump" effect. From the forums, I got the Hornet and F-14, but have yet to take them to the boat. I'm ok with the A-7 having the FC3 A-10A pit, but the A2A Hornet uses the FC3 F-15C pit and the A2G using a Russian pit for the targeting pod. Good WIP pics of the true build Hornet on the -113 site, not sure where the Razbam DCS SLUF is on the assembly line.

It seems I have a ton of reading up to do on the forums to get caught up, but the latest beta models (F-4/Tornado) have had my attention in FSX world.
