I've never uploaded anything before. Let's hope I get the formatting right. I'll upload it when I finish it (sometime this week).

I must have missed something, what paintkit are people using? are they using the fs9 kit or has the fsx kit been released?

To my knowledge a .psd or other format paint kit has not been released yet. I have been using the white texture templates included in the original release of the FSX native model for those that I have painted for it. In this case, I use Photoshop, and first convert the template to a .psd file and go from there. I would guess others are doing something similar. The FS9 paint kit is not fully compatible with the LDR native FSX model.

Ahhh thanks, I didnt know there is a all white livery as I haven't installed it as I was waiting on the paint kit.

Knowing that, I better get a move on

Any more word on the turbo Mallard?

    Brilliant.

I was one of those weirdo kids in the 80s who had next to zero interest in TV.

Tails of the Gold Monkey was the one show I loved.

    And Airwolf.

I'll leave you to speculate the common thread ...

Thanks - this will be well enjoyed.

    jeansy,

At one time, LDR had interest in doing the turbo Mallard once it is completed. We are getting very close now to that goal and I will offer the package to LDR. Hopefully they will have time to do the native version. At any rate, I will offer an FSX port over version.

Here are a few shots of the current state of progress.

Daily Hope and Anticipation, yes....Patience, NO!

Can't wait for this one to be ready...thanks to all who have given so much already.

A charter Turbo used to come in out of Muskegon, Mich. and she was a heads-turner.

    Thanks again!!

For those that have the Flight 1 GTN 750 GPS installed in the G-73 Mallard, I posted a checklist for Normal and Emergency procedures on the Flight 1 library site. This is the download link http://library.flight1.net/?p=5886
Place the chklist.ace file into your main FSX Grumman Mallard folder. From the main page of the GTN 750, go to Utilities then Checklist and the checklist will come up for your use.

    Hi Guys,

Sorry if this has been asked before, just to confirm, we have FSX Only Grumman Mallard G-73AT v1.2, the FSX Port Over Only Grumman G-73 Mallard v1.0 (Not Native FSX) & the LDR Mallard.

So, the Radial is the true FSX version, the G-73 is a port-over, & the LDR is true FSX.
Simply, what will be the difference between a portover & a true FSX?

    Thanks,
    Robin

Robin, thank you for your interest.

The LDR Released version is the ONLY native FSX version. It is very different from my FSX Port Over version and there is no compatibility between the two.

LDR took their version up a few notches with an all new FSX native VC and 3D gauges, remapped the aircraft for hi-res textures, different flight model, etc.

IMO, it is a must have for FSX users interested in the Mallard Radial.

The true FSX model will benefit from:
    - smaller FPS hit
    - bumpmap textures
    - shadows
    - no transparency issues or props/windows disappearing behind clouds or autogen

    Hello,

I use the beautifull TP Mallard (FSX Only Grumman Mallard G-73AT v1.2).

She is perfect to fly low and watch the lanscape, but I find the windshield too dark.

Is there a way to lighten it ? I was not able to discover in what texture file it is

Whatever the answer, this will not stop me to fly this great aircraft.
I am so grateful you "offered" her to us.

    Gerard,

    Thank you Sir.

The interior cabin and VC glass textures can be found on the cabinseatmod.dds texture in the common texture folder.
