Excellent!! A superb addition to my collection of Commanders, 500, 685, 690B... Thanks for the good news, Milton.

Thank you on behalf of Rotohub and myself.

I forgot to mention in the docs,

Takeoff: Add 2-2.5 degrees of nose trim, begin pulling nose up at 85; she will gently fly off at 95.

Rotohub, it was great working with you on this project. Thank you for the excellent model representing the "always wanted to do one" 685.

And, thanks to Tom Falley who helped resolve an issue with the flight model.

If anyone has suggestions for a more realistic sound set for these engines, I would like to have it. Unfortunately Nigel isn't available to do his usual magic.

First thing I did was to get rid of the wishy-washy Baron sound and replace it with Gary Jones' Teledyne-Continental sound set. When in doubt I always to my store of Mr Jones' sounds - never fails.
Not too sure where else but I believe all his stuff is at Britsim.

Obio made one titled "baron58deluxesounds.zip". It's at Flightsim.

And she'll do it easily with no flaps. The superb design features of the plane, and it's amazing capabilities to handle grass and hard pack dirt runways is very impressive .

You may wish to download again; it worked fine here on my test and apparently for others.

Out of curiosity, what version of Windows are you running?

Yes, you should not need flaps except on very short runways.

Two to 2.5 degrees of nose up trim (no flaps), rotate after 85, keep climb rate below 1000 fpm until you reach desired climb speed, then trim for 1450-1500fpm.

I had forgotten about Gary Jones' excellent sounds. I have them for the AC560 (another geared prop engine), and love them. Highly recommended.

I did all that and installer just hung and not decompress the files.

    I am using Win 7.

Okay, I will repackage with just Winzip and upload to my Dropbox for you to try.

Back in a few minutes ...

EDIT: FSX Only package without the Installer/decompressor now available at the original FSX download link.

I have replaced the FSX port over version archive with an straight Winzip'ed version. This is noted in the download description. So, if you are experiencing problems with the FSX version Clickteam installer hanging, re-download the new version.

I removed that file and updated the original archive. Sorry, I thought you would have downloaded it by then.

Thanks Milton for your support and FSX port over of the Rockwell Commander for FSX. It works like a charm.

    Appreciate it

    Milton,

It has been a great learning experience, and what can be better then learning from the best. I know that converting the AC3D mesh to a rigged GMAX model was a challenge, but I think it came out nice.
I am really enjoying this aircraft and looking forward to start my cockpit build in the spring. By the way, the suspension/gear setup is amazing.

    Arild
