Icon22 E14Y1 Glen released by Baldy!

Recently Dombral sparked my interest in an unusual but operational Japanese aircraft - the submarine launched spotter plane E14Y1 'Glen' - well, she's not finished yet but here are the first trials with MAS's I-19 submarine

I'll keep you posted as to progress

    I19 class B1 with a catapulte forward
    I8 classJ3 with a catapulte back

I do not know of a CFS1 Ki-15 but if it is in good shape it may be worth rebuilding...

    EDIT:
Fround FS5/FS98 version flightsim but don't have a account with them....

Still more to do but I've done sufficient to be able to pass stuff to Uncle Tgt so he can do a real paintjob

Draft 2 pics - a little more rivet & panel line emphasis.

Scheme is derived from the schemes reported for the Kido Butai's E13A Jakes at Pearl. E14Ys overflew Pearl twice in the weeks following the operation for damage assessment.

    Glen

Thanks Rami - I've got a big enough head as it is

anyway one added fun tweak -apparently the Glen had a vertical camera under or near pilot's seat - pan down in vc mode

not really accurate but gives the flavour

some more progress with paint schemes

I-9 overflew Pearl Harbour in December '41. The red tail was probably overpainted by this time, but it made a nice change from overall yellow-grey.
I-21 overflew Sydney Harbour at the end of May 1942. No interception was made, but CAC Wirraway's were scrambled...

671-09 Later on the planes were relegated to coastal patrols off the Home Islands. This aircraft has the white square surrounds to the hinomarus common to aircraft based around the Home Islands (the period before the US Navy CVs came a calling).

Final set of repaints pretty much done...

I-25, In September 1942 this ship tried to firebomb Oregon. The profiles show yellow ID strips, but as the date of the raid pre-dates the official instruction to add them, I left them off.
671-16, Another coastal patrol from the Home Islands, circa MAR45.
    An Indonesian aircraft circa JAN46
One of the evaluation aircraft from the Air Technical Arsenal.

    E14Y1 'Glen'

I have just finished uploading the Glen package, which, as well as the aircraft, contains a couple of sub launch and recover missions to go with the appropriate submarines. Details on where to find the subs are included. Very shortly Uncle Tgt will be uploading a pack of textures for several of the aircraft which flew many of the more notorious missions - and here I must say a big thank you to Uncle for the work he has put in to make my stuff look good.

    all the best

    E14Y1 Glen released by Baldy!

Hi Baldy. This is a very cool aircraft. It looks really good. I dropped it in my FS9 and it flies very well. Baldy, any chance you would kindly consider modifying the model file to include the pilot for FS9 use?

    Thanks!
    Bill
