    Lightbulb Skinning the Marauder!

Prepping this Marauder in HD. Mostly working on the tail feathers thus far. Top/bottom fuse next, sides done, then wings/nacelles.

Thanks crashAZ! Aligning the top, sides, and bottom on the fuse before adding more detail.

Is this a rebuild/re-skin off David Eckert's B-26 ? , this would be a goodie, fantastic work so far these are really pretty aircraft.

Hey Ian, this one is from the Warbirds Library, FSX native Martin B-26. Trying to creating a basic PSD paint kit for it. Beauty of this model is it has top and bottom mapped.

Robert Perry did a nice digital art of the B-26. Check out his work creating this model.

Thrown some color on the fuse to check how the metal looks.

Thanks for the link Ted, Robert Perry did a wicked job with the digital art, I am surprised very few have looked this model for Flight Sim , maybe someone may pick up on the idea after the work you are doing here.

New spec's for the fuse reduce the shine and some tweaks to the grunge layer. Need to highlight the gunner doors, add some detail there. Reduced the distortion on the star.

Tufun, thanks for sharing your work. I have always loved the Marauder. Can't wait till it is available for flying.

Thanks guys for all the comments!

Robert's rendition of his Marauder has inspired me to do this one. It's my favorite bomber, and was hoping one would pop up some day from A2A, or other model developers.
Would dream of something like Robert's model be developed for FSX/P3D!

Great looking so far. The B-26 has always been a favorite of mine. I'm looking forward to flying your work.

A while back Uncle Milton posted a list of possible future projects and I'm pretty sure I remember the Marauder being on it.

Limitations to the mapping thus no gunner doors detail, oh well. Tail feathers od color now.

I've been working on the bottom fuse and bay doors. The left bay door is mapped at the bottom fuse, while the right bay door is mapped to the right side of the fuse. Wonder what else is odd on this model?

Just quickly threw this up on the tail for future repaint!

Oh wow, that would be a real treat!

Good work, TF, that surely gives the Marauder a good look. Looking forward to see more :-)

This tail has a nose art of a black panther and name below that say "MARAUDER". Made a few adjustments on that tail numbers. Ok, that's enough of that diversion, on to the wings.

    Wings

    Pattern for the wings!

One blip on the flaps left wing as seen here. Right wings is ok.

Ted, thank you for posting these WIP shots. I don't post or comment all that much but I really appreciate artist/ modelers such as yourself who do this. It's informative, even educational, and it's good to see how others approach a subject. So, thanks to you and all the others who not only share their final product with us, but also share their modes, methods and madness.

Now, I'll go kick back and watch the rest of the show!

Thanks Duckie! This model doesn't have bumps, so it's done the usual way, balancing between black and white panels and rivets. It's the only FSX Marauder so thought I would take a stab at it.

It's like painting a plastic model! Had plenty of those back in the day.
