It is a fickle addon and I get very frustrated with it. E.g. it will not function through a powered hub at all. PMDG a/c ignore it. I find it works best with default a/c (who actually uses them?) and freeware, especially of FS2004 vintage.
It has never occurred to me to try programming it thru' FSUIPC. I will make that a project for tonite - if I get time.

Edit :- Later that same day - No FSUIPC cannot see the switch panel.

I've got that panel (along with the radio and autopilot panel) and like it as well as use it often. On some some aircraft the gear and flap switch won't work, this is due to the way the function is programmed in the aircraft. E.g. those a/c that need pressure applied to the hydraulics prior to moving the respective lever, like some WW2 A2A titles.
Other than that most aircraft work - not only freeware titles. Wouldn't want to fly without them anymore.
I never bothered to do some special programming via the Saitek Software or other for it, so I can't comment on that.

I attached them up to a dedicated, self-powered USB hub (all my flight controllers / stuff are attached to this hub) and never had a problem with that.

Ah, by the way. My son is often co-piloting on my flights and has to operate the panels on my command. Great way to teach a 6 year old numbers and letters, as well as all these functions on an airplane. He's becoming a real pro :-) !

    Cheers,

I don't have any of the Saitek panels, but recall that you need to use the SPAD driver insead of Saitek's program to get them to work with several add-on aircraft.

You might want to have a look at that.
