    Good morning,

Just an update...the DEI campaign parts are being packaged and made ready for quick upload, I am just waiting on hearing back from a few people about permissions and a couple of fixes.

I'm still in the area, somewhere south of Java, scheming my next idea.

    Good afternoon,

Another update...while I am waiting for responses from other parties as well as the last items needed to release D.E.I., I got thrown a bit of a curve, in a good way. Onnogras was quite flattered by my inclusion of his scenery and for seeking out his permission, so he asked if I would like to see some scenery enhancements for Sumatra that he never released to SOH. I told him I would be very interested, and if it was suitable for the campaign, I would be glad to use it.

I hopefully will be looking at these items today or tomorrow. In the meantime, I'll be south of Java in Mission Builder working on a last-minute add-on.

    Good morning,

I'm just waiting on one piece to release D.E.I...I decided to hold off on making an modifications to the Sumatra-based missions until the scenery is completed.

    Ki43 tanks - update

Rami & Bloodhawk have something to test.

Some pics for those bored with the cricket.

Using a bit of lateral thinking, it's just a recompile of Thickos Hurricane 44 gal tanks. How many different looks & cofigurations can a 44-45 gal fuel tank have?

    Hey Rami,

Sorry its taking me so long. I'm looking at buying a house and working OT.

It would seem I did do the wrong tank. After I finished it, I tested it on the zero. Come to find out I did the 330L tank for the george. Ooops... So I have the 200L for the Zero. I'm remapping it to use 4 different textures. I'm also doing the Oscars tank. They are not as pointed as the 44gal that UT converted.

    UT,

I have the bmp set for five colors. Do you want just the bmp or the psp image? I can send both. They have room for some shading. Just watch the top and bottom edges. Tey are done simular to my LA-11 tanks. except both sides will share the same mapping.

I'm going to map the Oscar tanks a little different. That way some of the details can be added.

    Good morning,

That's great news. I also heard back from Captain Kurt, and he's going to try to work on the P-36 airfile this weekend.

John, bmps will be fine. PSPs are Ok too, it's just the filesizes can be a tad large. If you do send the PSPs, make sure I can read them. I'm still using PSP 8.10

I'll send the BMPs then. As I have PSP x3.

    Kurt,

Thanks a million! This is precisely why I was more than willing to wait.

The only thing I am waiting on now are the drop tanks.

    John,

I am using the A6M2b by Akemi. I'll check it out now as I wake up with my coffee. Maybe I'll be able to upload the campaign today!

UPDATE: It works great, all I had to do was adjust the pylon and drop tank back so that it clears the wheel wells.

Dutch East Indies campaign - Part I.zip

A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 2 Campaigns Add-Ons

Description: Welcome to the Dutch East Indies campaign package! This campaign package consists of one nineteen-mission Dutch and one eighteen-mission Japanese campaign chronicling many of the major events in the Japanese effort to capture the oil-rich Dutch East Indies in the period between 16 December, 1941 and 5 March, 1942. Missions in these campaigns are essentially a historical overview of the campaign in a broad sense.

The Dutch side begins on Borneo, and consisting of observing and attacking the Japanese invasion force before defending your aerodrome and retreating first to Sumatra, then later on to Java, where you make your last stand. The effort is ultimately unsuccessful, and the campaign ends with some last-ditch efforts to knock out Japanese positions as they continue to take over the island. Because of the two primary aircraft that you fly, this is by far the tougher of the two campaigns. The performance of your two primary aircraft are inadequate when compared to the two primary Japanese fighters; the Mitsubishi A6M Zero and the Nakajima Ki-43 Oscar.

The Japanese campaign is the easier of the two. In this campaign you will be operating from both land and sea; you will spend many missions flying off the Japanese light carrier Ryūjō. This will provide you with numerous opportunities to practice your carrier traps. The missions begin off of Borneo, with your primary responsibility being the defense of the invasion force coming ashore. Following this, you begin to chase the Dutch from place to place; this includes Sumatra and later to Java, where again you defend the invasion forces before engaging airfields and other targets further inland. Missions include bomber escort, airfield strikes, fleet defense, and fighter sweeps. The performance of the Zero and the Oscar in these missions means that you will have a much easier type maintaining the upper hand.

In the first package, you will find nearly all the aircraft, sounds, and repaints required for this campaign. Please note that I also some of these aircraft in the two other 1941-1942-era Pacific campaigns. The aircraft included in this package include the aircraft and repaints of the Donationware team, Stuart Green, Thicko, Krystof Malinowski, Morton, Kelticheart, Dombral, Sopwith Chameleon, Wolfi, Bruno Duffort, and Akemi. Engine sounds by Lawdog2360, Blood_Hawk23, and Blondi have also been included, as well as specific drop tanks for the A6M2 Zero and the Ki-43 Oscar to replace the stock versions.

All the aircraft in this package have been modified, when necessary, to include the appropriate repaints, when possible, for the aircraft. I have also included modified .dp files for each aircraft which correct information in the [MISC.DATA] section that was in error. To lessen issues with frame rates with many waves of aircraft in the sky, all exhaust effects have been removed, if they were included in the original models.

Additionally, all weapons required for the aircraft have been included.

    Enjoy!

    "Rami"

P.S. - Skylane's campaigns will often parallel or branch off of this campaign, they run roughly along similar time frames.

In this second package, you will find the GSL scenery objects, anti-aircraft guns, buildings, scenery packages, game sounds, nationality screens, voice packs, as well as nearly all the other equipment required, together with the campaigns & missions themselves.

Those whose work has been used for this project include Rhumbaflappy, MaskRider, Ettico, Ajax, Stiz, Wolfi, Lawdog2360, Blackbird686, Serge Tremblay, Xavierb, Usio, Mas, Stuart277, The Groundcrew Team, and the AF Team. Due to this, it is imperative that you gain permission from all these parties before uploading this file package to a location other than www.sim-outhouse.com. Please be respectful of the rights of all those whose work is found here.

This package is to remain exclusively freeware at no time and under no circumstances can it be sold, bundled as payware, or uploaded to a site that charges users for downloading.

Prior to packaging and uploading, all contents were scanned by Bit Defender 2015 and certified "clean." The contents of this package work well on my machine, but should your hard drive melt or have other major issues as a result of installing this campaign package, I assume no responsibility and am not liable for these issues.

    Hey guys,

When you respond to this thread, make sure to thank UncleTgt, Blood_Hawk23, and Captain Kurt. All three fixed some major issues with drop tanks, AI performance, and airfile tweaking, especially with the pesky little FDG P-36!

By the way, eventually this campaign will receive one final update. In addition to allowing me to use his scenery and make modifications, Onnogras also said he was "inspired" by me, and will now complete his unfinished Sumatra scenery package. When he releases it, I will have to update the missions around Palembang to use his new airbases. But the overall impact on the campaign will be minimal. Skylane's campaigns would be more affected by this.

I hope you enjoy, now I gotta get back to Port Darwin!

Thank you Rami and everyone that made the auto install campaign possible. Your hard work and many, many, adjustments to numerous things are very much appreciated!
Ideas like these will keep CFS2 going for a long time, and makes campaigns easily accessible for everyone even beginners.

I do have to fix the the DT. The rear of it was messed up during the boolean cut. I'm working the next four, so it will have to wait. Sorry...

For now you can run with it if you want.

    Blood_Hawk23,

No problem, I can include any corrections with the Port Darwin mission pack, it will probably be several days before that is released.
