Over the Hills and Far Away

We've decided to continue our low & slow adventure while putting Spain behind us. Our first stop is LFMU in France. Nice airport here, although there isn't a corndog & snowcone stand....

(BTW, this FTX Orbx freeware scenery is pretty darn good)

Nice flight on up into France. I didn't realise that France has such rough looking country. Deep valleys and plateaus seem to be the rule here....

Had a great flight to LFHH. We left the hill country and entered the Rhone Valley. On approach, my intention was to land on the grass strip, but I got a bit low and when dodging a tree, got lined up perfectly with the paved one so figured what the heck. Just as I crossed over the end of the runway about 10ft agl, some AI guy walked out from a group of parked Cessnas and went right in front of me onto the runway. I managed to dodge him (I hoped) but almost put it in the pond in the process. Managed to get set down and parked. After several minutes wait with no ambulance or police showing up, I figured that I had indeed missed the idiot. I bet he probably went to change his clothes after almost having a DC-2 set down on him....

A couple shots from last night's flight. Ran into a thick fog, but luckily it wasn't very high and we just flew over it. Next stop: Switzerland!!

Great flight tonight into Switzerland! Buzzed LSPN and ended up at LSZR on Lake Constance.

Had great flight into Austria. Followed the Brenner Pass most of the way, then hopped over a ridge to get into the valley that LOWZ sits in. Although I just barely made it over that ridge. Last time I looked at the ASI, it was showing under 60 kias, just above dirty stall and I had the engines going hard enough that I kind of halfway expected them to blow. I sure was glad to be able to point the nose back down and throttle back when I got over the top.
