Thread: MV F-4E Phantom II Released!

    Hi,

    if if you are running FSX Steam or P3D 2.5, this is a known issue that will be fixed soon.

    If not, please get on the forums.

    Thank you.

    The F-4J is a deliciously challenging aircraft to trap! I had 3 waveoffs in a row followed by a bolter before I was able to catch the 4 wire. I am looking forward to mastering this plane!

    A glaring oversight for we Naval aviation buffs was a lack of a provision for using the catapults. I small amount of experimentation gave me a very serviceable starting point.

    Place the following in your aircraft.cfg

    [launch_assistance]
    launch_bar_pivot= 17, 0.000, -5
    launch_bar_lug= 19, 0.000, -7

    the nose strut squats more than it should on release but you will still get a beautiful launch with full flaps & burner. I will revise these numbers soon but right now that 3 wire is vexing me & must be put in its place!
    Regards, Bob

    Of course! Testing should happen at Edwards AFB!

    The P3D rendition of the base is particularly nice IMHO!

    Cheers,

    Got it - thanks Milviz! Running Win 7 pro on my gaming pc. all control surfaces locked, no tilt movement in interior or exterior views. Lots of textures in the folder, but only 11 in the config file. Very strange. I'll go to the support pages. Rolling back now to the previous version.

    Rerun the installer. At the bottom of the screen you can tick the uninstall box. Make sure you select the correct sim.

    Just an FYI for P3D v2 users who hang out here....the F-4 will only work with v2.5.12945/12946. If your version is earlier please upgrade or you will get CTDs.
