    First time this happened to me in CFS 2

    Building a campaign to represent TF 8 and 17 raids on Marshall and Gilbert Islands in Feb 1942.While flying a TBD(love the plane, is a challenge really have to watch yourself and make sure have fighter escort) on anti shipping mission at Kwajalein.Shortly after dropping torpedo and sinking a tanker, a lone Zero came after me, my fighter escort was catching up to him.I began evasive maneuvers(well much as can in aTBD) and firing away with rear gun.I noticed I scored some hits directly on the canopy, the zero flipped over on it's back and crashed right into the water.Lucky shot I am sure but is pilot death/injury modeled in the AI pilots? I saw no smoke etc from engine or real hits on control surfaces etc, just lucky burst into the cockpit and the Zero crashed. Those who know more about the sim than I do can shed some light on this I am sure.

    Hi dasuto247,

    It all depends on the DP file. Most DP's have a damage box for the Pilot.
    Here is an example.
    [EFFECTS.4]
    ; System = Pilot
    effect.0=95,LIBRARY,fx_smkpuff_m,
    effect.1=100,DEATH,,

    As you can see the pilot can be killed.

    Good shooting.
