Title: FSX/FS2004 Galleon NEPTUNE from the 17th century


FSX/FS2004 Galleon NEPTUNE from the 17th century. This sailing ship is a replic for Roman Polanski's movie "Pirates" with Walter Matthau as pirats captain. On my model I have replaced the oversized figurehead "Neptune" with a scary reaper. The boat is almost complete rigged with hundreds of ropes regarding the early 17th century. Forteen cannons and two Jolly Roger flags are animated. Twentyeight cameras let you explore the whole ship: The deck, below the decks and you can enjoy the sailors views from high above in the masts. Using FS2004 there are seventeen virtual panel lookaround views. FSDS 3.5 model made by Erwin Welker

In truth, can you imagine a more terrifying sight, than to see this thing bearing down on the beat, and then rolling out 14 cannon and a choice for the master of your ship!

My galleon seems to have grounded itself permanently, it lurches along as if dragging the keel.
And often falls over.

Are you in FS9?

If so, the aircraft.cfg MOIs may need an update.

I changed mine to the following:

empty_weight_pitch_MOI= 27241.360
empty_weight_roll_MOI= 56108.570
empty_weight_yaw_MOI= 10431.430
empty_weight_coupled_MOI= 0.0

It helped a lot but more could be done for stability.

I have not tried it in FSX yet.

They could just be looking for a safe haven - pick up some vitals, don their gladrags for some merrymaking, refit and get a few barnacles scraped.

Very nicely done pirate ship by Erwin Walker will find moorings and a warm welcome here.

Thanks Nigel, I will confess to post-production skulduggery, every time you see a reflection in an FS9 screen!
Installed water is Zinertek + mods.

I am really looking forward to berthing some shipping at your next attraction - my word you are a man of diverse talent...
