    Good morning,

Anyway, just as I did with the Mediterranean, I am revamping some of the European ports I originally did that I think are lacking. While Gosport I liked, Portsmouth was terrible. So I spruced it up a bit...

    Good evening,

Pending permission from Gary20, Kelticheart, and Kdriver, I will be releasing an update to the CFS2 BoB airfields, which will be used in both campaign projects that our team is still working on. This continues the process of "clearing out the drawer," getting all of these half-started projects completed and out the door in order to tackle new challenges.

One of the problems I am encountering with this is that some of the flattens need to be redone for these airfields.

You will enjoy enhanced scenery for Hornchurch, Croydon, Biggin Hill, Duxford, Middle Wallop, Hawkinge, Tangmere, Kenley, Gravesend, Ventnor, and Warmwell. These will be updated in the same manner as Oldenburg, in that all possible objects used will be included.

Must be some airfield update bug in the air. I'm fixing mine because of the "sinking building as you move away from them bug."

    Good morning,

Here is an example of Tangmere. The two main things I have done is replace the trees with Lindsay Watt's generic trees and used the underground petrol tanks. I was thinking about changing the trees again, maybe some conifers and willow trees. Any suggestions?

Here is a screenshot of Warmwell...I can't remember which ones Kelticheart worked on specifically, this may very well be one of them. I know he worked on Hawkinge.

    Rami,

as to your tree question: use only the oldest generic trees from LW's library and sparse at that. They are Southern Hemisphere trees, in my still-up-in-air enhancement work I use almost exclusively BoB lib trees and Wolfi's hardwood forest patch 1. Wolfi's conifer forest patch is good in Northern UK and up in the mountains.

Later LW's tree libs are either framerate-heavy or too PTO looking.

I was fervently hoping Blood-Hawk would release his Gmax ETO tree library, but I do not think it'll happen anytime soon.

I had put all of the updates on hold because of this, as I already reviewed every single scenery for one new object or another at least four times and it's quite a time-consuming job. I was in the middle of replacing stock objects with Cees Donker's RAF building collection, Gmax-ed by Allen, when John announced his trees.

Put the project back on hold and I got involved with the Veltro and the Fiat CR.32.......One day the scenery project will be done. Sigh!

Have you got my last rendition of Gary20's Hawkinge, at least?

    Cheers!

    Stefano,

I actually am going to proceed with the willows and other generic trees. I agree about going heavy on Wolfi's trees; I just want to make sure that there is somewhat of a variety from time to time. Yes, I have Hawkinge, and I also have Hornchurch, Kenley, and Biggin Hill as well that you did.

The AG Tree Library Version 1.10 for FS 2004 by Arno Gerretsen & Stephen Legg dated November 28, 2004 look good for the ETO with FS 2004/Sander de Cocq type textures. However, they need converting to CFS 2 format.

    Andrew,

I don't remember if I sent you the Hawkinge *.lay, just in case here it is. In three versions:

    1. Gary20's Hawkinge alone
    2. your Dover port alone
    3. Gary20's Hawkinge + your Dover port

Due to the CFS2 quirk of deleting the last of two overlapping gobs, Dover and Hawkinge must be installed as a single scenery. Installing one after the other one will delete the last one. Mmmmmmm......nice pun....

If the old layouts of mine you have still feature LW's wooden watch towers, get rid of this object. I checked a while ago, RAF never built and used them in UK, while they were common in Luftwaffe airports.

I will send you all the updates I have, based upon WWII pictures and other sims I found on the net.

    Cheers!

    Stef,

You did. I have the Dover port as well. By the way, I do not have that problem with the Hawkinge / Dover overlap. On my sim, they are on separate gobs.

    Dover is 2b400e
    Hawkinge is 2b600e

And for right now, I am just dealing with the BoB bases. Please don't tempt me with other work, I need to remain focused.

Well, another proof computer science is the most approximate science of them all!

They are on separate gobs in mine as well, yet if I install Dover first, Hawkinge CH and CHL post objects disappears. If I install Hawkinge first, Dover goes on vacation!

    Go figure!
    Stef

BTW: I never explained you why I went in editing your ports as well, I owe you an explanation. Please forgiver me, looks have nothing to do with it, you do a very nice job at building ports and industrial areas. I only like to see trees there too, and I noticed some bigger industrial scenery objects, from Wolfi's libs, affect framerate more negatively than the combination of Canion's objects I replaced them with.
I'm always looking for better fps performance!

This bridge was mis-located to the west in the original London scenery. The Sheppey bridge is now fixed.

FYI...I find that tilting the angle of a bridge intersection for Wolfi's bridges more than eight or nine degrees relative to one another makes it look comical. I used shorter lengths to complete the turn onto the island.

    Stefano,

Has this happened to you? The same bridge gets split into two separate gobs...that can be maddening to make them fit right.
