A good year for rally game fans..

Yesterday DiRT rally appeared on Steam which is still early access but looks promising: http://store.steampowered.com/app/310560/
Basically it's a Dirt game going back to the roots of the old Colin McRae rally series, so just rally stages, no gymkhana etc.

Sebastien Loeb Rally Evo will be released later this year: http://store.steampowered.com/app/355060

    As will WRC 5!

    DiRT Rally trailer:

Of course I had to get this game, as I always enjoyed the Colin McRae rally games and the DiRT series. Well, this is a totally different game.....

Let's just say I felt like an amateur after the first tests...... Lots of damage! I would compare this game more to the old Richard Burns Rally sim rather than the more recent DiRT games.

Still fun though, but more practice is definitely required!

    Thanks Noddy.

I've been experimenting with the rotation anlge on the G25 to get a better feel and a quicker reponse, and around 330 degrees the car responds quite well to input.

Dave, the G25 is the model that came before the G27. It came with a program called the Logitech gaming software profiler (You can also download it at the logitech website) which lets you set up the steering wheel.
Some games works great with the full motion (Like Project Cars and Assetto Corsa), others (Like all Codemasters' games) need to have the rotation limited, otherwise the steering becomes far too indirect to be useable. For an F1 or rallycar about 300 degrees should be plenty.

The latest update added the Pikes Peak hillclimb and three classic PP cars; the Audi Quattro and the Peugeots 205 and 405. Full asphalt or mixed gravel/asphalt, different times of day and weather conditions available.
Lots of fun, trying to beat the ten minute mark!

Have just started back with 'Simming' in general and started this one up after a rather large update downloaded.
Getting better all the time, even if I do keep rolling the 'Pikes Peak Pug' into a ball far more times than I'll admit too.
I decided to invest in a new monitor, the BenQ XL2730, running 2560x1440 at 144HZ the detail in this WIP is outstanding.
Great selection of cars and events so far.

We'll see Eddie, maybe I'll buy into pCars2 as well. Enjoyed the first experience.

The situation with pCars2 is pretty fluid at this time, as usual, most of the ideas proposed are sound while the lunatic fringe continue to come up with suggestions that would just not work.
I've given it plenty of thought and buying in at a middle level is probably sensible (around A$250.00) as the upper levels are rather higher than I care to consider.
However, one should never say never.

I got in on the lowest level Wombat, wasn't exactly sure what I was getting into! I got burned pretty bad jumping into Roberts "Star Citizen" crap, and didn't want to go that route again. So being a bit cautious this time around. Wanted to get in the first Project Cars beta, but heard about it too late.
