Very annoying issue...anyone else had this? solutions?

Well suddenly when I save a mission, for whatever reason it refuses to save the trigger and events for spawning planes, which is an issue.

Never had this before, suddenly it started. Can't figure out why.

I am getting the warning about mission file size but I save and run anyways, never had a problem before, suddenly this.

    Any ideas?

Worse. It could be a corrupted mission file/ When you earlier periodically saved completed portions of the full mission, did you save them under the same or slightly different names?

Yes, it is.That is the warning I was referring to but never been an issue when I run it anyways, since I asked on here and was told to just save and ignore the message. Thinking I need to scrap the missions, save under 64kb? Just wondering why suddenly when over 64 it would be a prob, had no issues before even when over the limit.

Well when the issue started, was under same name, but saved under a new name, deleted older. same problem

appears the issue was corrupted save, two different missions, new files, saved and reloaded, events created were still there. Question is now, is there about to get around the limit? I know this is a 16 year old sim but would be nice, prevents from really creating the detailed missions want sometimes. Mission will run even if dont edit until under the limit, but as have found out, will corrupt the save eventually.

    Dasuto247,

Let me ask you a question. Why are the missions so large? Is it just aircraft and ships, or are you including scenery as well?

I am asking this because it's one of the reasons I started building GSL scenery, to get around that very problem.

Too late. You have to save under a new name from the beginning to avoid the corruption. Saving also gives you an earlier copy BEFORE the problem is noted - that keeps you from having to rebuild from scratch. CC's Mission Builder Handbook says on page 168: Regularly Save Your Missions – There is nothing worse then spending an hour or two
working on a mission only to have the Mission Builder CTD before you’re finished and have
saved the mission. Avoid this hassle by regularly saving your mission along the way. On big
missions I save after plotting all of the waypoints, after entering the triggers, after entering the
events (I frequently have my missions planned out in advance and as a result do all of my
    triggers at one time followed by all of my events). Remember, never overwrite a mission;
always save each new version using a different file name. Overwriting missions can cause big
    problems.

I am asking this because it's one of the reasons I started building GSL scenery, to get around that very problem.

Well usually, it is just planes and ships. I don't need to add as many objects since figured out how to use much of the great scenery available but add enough AA batteries etc around targets and say aircraft as scenery at home base, plus planes, ships at times, it adds up.Example would be Port Moresby Airfield Complex.I run the scenery so now have all the airfields of Port Moresby (except Rogers Field 35 mile, know if it has been modeled?) but they look empty without aircraft etc not included in scenery.

Example, I built a series of missions for operation desecrate one in March 44.Well to build TF 58 as was to historical accuracy (I get OCD when I build missions and when I fly) its over 50 ships, then to include proper number of planes, with escorts etc. AA guns, ships in harbor, it added up but I managed. The issue came when I made some strikes on Woleai. With the ships, planes and few objects, I reached the limit. I was not away overwriting was a big problem, know better for next time.

Also, lets face it, some battles especially later in war are on a grand scale. Philippine Sea, Leyte Gulf. I plan to do those in the future. Last one I did was Santa Cruz, which included full order of battle for both sides but since not much was involved in way of objects, only once did exceed limit and it gave me no problems when I ran the mission. I actually should have shared it, it was a fun series of missions.

That's the fine line you have to walk. Unfortunately absolute historical accuracy has to be sacrificed in order to allow missions to work properly.
As long as you convey a sense of the whole, you don't need to actually show all of it.
