It's been on a few days Ian. I indulged in the F5E TigerII to go with my Milviz T38. A complete waste of money. Flew it once and binned it I'd wanted to get the Harvard for a while (already had the early FS9/FSX version and presumed this version wouldn't be a port-over!) but having been put onto Wozza's T6 recently, there was absolutely no need to buy the Virtavia model again!

Went scratching around my HD and realised I'd not installed Mustang Tales (bought at Christmas along with so many other things!!). Happy once more

Thanks for the Heads Up Ian. This morning I bought the Lincoln, B-45, B-29, F-86, Hunter and A-4. My initial impressions of these Virtavia products are not wholly positive. Where I have freeware equivalents they seem to me, at first sight, to be more what I was hoping for. I bought many Alphasim products years ago and admired and enjoyed them, perhaps with time I might come to appreciate these newer offerings.

Was tempted to go for the Lincoln at $14.98, but when I go to the checkout it says its $19.93!

Think will wait for another day.

Still a good aircraft Cees, especially for just $12.50! Comes with several H3 and H6 models (Four different ones I believe) and plenty of repaints around.

Does anyone know if the Hampden is a port-over on an FsX native model?

Just checked, but prices 'in cart' are a lot higher than the listed price.....

The Heinkel He-111 is early FSX quality at best.

That is of course just MHO.

I'd agree with that Johan. It remains one of my fave Alpha/Virtavia releases of all time. There's a rather good FD update available for it in the library here too

The checkout reverts to Australian dollars, were your listed prices in US dollars until checkout? My purchases were listed in GB pounds until checkout.

Make sure you de-select DVD backup and the price should remain correct. I've done this loads of times

Can you advise me about the following three addons?

    - He-111, from 2011, 12.50 USD: Looks good, era of my interest, cheapest. Is there a (*better*) freeware alternative?
    - Mi-24D, from 2013, 14.98 USD: Looks better, country of my interest, libit less cheap. Any better alternatives (free or pay)?
    - B-29, from 2013, 16.25 USD: Looks very nice, marvellous bird, not even expensive. Any freeware alternative?

    Thanks!

The only alternative to all three that I know of is the nemeth mi-24, which is more realistic, more interactive and twice as expensive (With sale going on).

As far as I know there are no FsX native B-29's or He-111 around.

    Exact.

But, again IMHO, repaints of the interiors of the Hé-111 and B-29 could make them a lot better looking.

Of the two, the B-29 offers the most possibilities.

Ok, thanks for the information! Judging on YT videos on both bomber, I think repaints can do the better job indeed. The Hind doesn't look that very good in YT video, so I reject that option. I'm in a doubt still, but that's more about: buy something or buy nothing

I took this shot of the 111's ages ago. If you look very close.. you can see how 'round' the fuselage isn't but this doesn't detract from what has been a good model from day one. The major problem I've always had is landing. The fwd view isn't particularly good (despite all that glass) so you have to make a shallow descent to keep the runway in sight.

What makes it stand out even more is the fact this is the only He111 for FS in recent history (outside CFS that is).

Being escorted back across the channel by a friend. I took this shot at the end of a sequence of shots which included the one above. DO try the revised FD.. anyone who has it or is thinking of getting it

You will need to do some thing with the flight model, but the 111 is not bad!

I am thinking of buying F-106 Delta Dart BUT the problem is that I see no evidence of any USAF Alaskan base liveries for this plane. F-106 Delta Darts were famous for patrolling Alaska.

If there are few different Alaskan base livery for that plane, I might buy it.

    Regards,

    Aharon
