    Cool Grumman F3F Flying Barrel

Since I'm using P3Dv2.5, I will post my progress work here. So mainly working from the cockpit back at this time. Creating the illusion of bumps sorta!

Moved most of the horizontal rivets and step up a few clicks. Started drafting the rudder before shutting down for the day.

Looks good! Are you making a paintkit out of that?

    Progress on Barrel

Just checking to see if any progress on the sounds for the Barrel?

    Thanks.

Revisions on some areas, added louver panel and rudder stitching. This is all done by embossing/engraving technique. It can be painted in the same fashion as the Carenado type aircraft.
My focus is on the model when time permits. Will post updates next weekend.

    Hi TuFun,
You are making a VEEERY good job, after seen Your screenshots I decided to stop my paintkit waiting for Your one, I encountered a lot of problems in texturing simmetry in Bazzar's original fuselage mapping, problems that transform the weathering and shading of the surfaces in a very hard job, , so I think it will be better for me to apply my weathering and shading on Your base textures.
I hope You solved this problem.....
A question : the bmps will be in 2048x2048 or bigger (4096x4096) ?

Why thank you! Thus far the only texture file I've done is the fuselage at 2048x2048. All other textures are still Caz's 1024x1024. P3Dv2 provides all the shading built in from DX11.
The one area that may need some shading is the curved panel lines/rivets starting from the rear of the canopy to near the front of the tail as it tapers back. Caz may have some good technique on this for you.

Now the Grumman has an egg shell (canvas) to which one now can paint on. The lift point and canopy needs detailing, plus the tail cone (tough one). Easter colors anyone!

    Close of the tail...

Out of respect for Bazzer and AH team for bring the new F3F model to us early this project is on hold for awhile. Here's a peek at one of the paints I've done.

Working on gun/ammo/vent panels, etc. ...

Holes will be replaced with rivets/screws and circle is to find the placement for the rivets around the wheel well.

Feels like I'm building a virtual Monogram plastic model! Built the Monogram 1/32 first run version long time ago.

    Tufun,
Any plans on developing a new realistic sound package? I don't know what AH plans are but thought I'd ask

^ Cloud brush would probably work well for that texture.

    Wheel well looking better now.

Interesting to note is I didn't as of yet added the square panel. One of the Marines F3F didn't have that panel, but 0976 does.

Yeah, that's cool, but what about the sounds; Or, are you gonna pass on it?

    Attn Tufun

    Ted,

Sorry to of badgered you about the sound files. I meant no harm or ill will. I would PM this to you but you left me this only option to communicate.
Wish you much success with further developments.

    All the best

Sounds are unedited except for the the custom cruise/high rpm sounds and prop sound. Sound.cfg has not been edited to fit sounds.
