    Mallard - solid props

    Milton,

Wonderful job on this a/c. I have tried to keep track of all the various FS9 models for this production but, sadly seem to have lost my way somewhere.

On the skins for this a/c that have been posted and utilising the latest model for this a/c you have posted, I get solid prop discs and also am missing a texture from the right-hand side of the vc.

The only model that you have published that gives me a good spinning prop with transparency, is the model you produced on 8/1/2015 at 11:23 AM 4,067 KB.

Lovely to solve these issues, but realise you have an awful lot on your plate at present.

    Hi Mal :-)

Sorry about the issues; things are in flux at the moment.

Attaching a replacement prop texture. The name has changed to drop the _t and the transparency is controlled only by the alpha channel now.

Also uploaded my current panel folder to replace yours. Keep in mind I do not have panel textures other than the templates so you may wish to save yours and replace mine.

    Mallard spinprop and vc cockpit

    Milton,

VMT for your prompt reply plus attachment with spinprop.bmp and your latest panel. Am always humbled by your ability to respond to everything thrown at you, when, like the Mallard Duck you are smooth and serene above water-level and paddling like f... underneath.

As an old '60s homily went: 'It's hard to remember that the aim is to drain the swamp, when you are up to your neck in alligators'!

Manacas has certainly got the bit between his teeth and sparking on all eight. His 'Chalk' paints look really rich.

What a great a/c you have apparently magically produced out of your hat. HMS ENDEAVOUR certainly blind-sided a lot of your fans.

    Thanks for everything.
    Mal

Great progress on the paint, engines, and prop textures. Very nice. I look forward to their evolution.

I am hoping that Andre and SteveB come through with updates to their work as well; great stuff everywhere.

Oh Wow! You have been busy Rui That is looking very nice inside and outside.

The interior textures are shaping up beautifully. Love the wall, seat, and bathroom treatment, especially the sink.

Thank you for sharing your progress; we look forward to seeing this evolve.

and you have managed to get those nose bits all properly aligned...phheeww...great job !
    Love the livery too!

In the meantime,...I have been trying to achieve a nice subtle effect for those propellers,
since the Trans Catalina "Spirit of Avalon" had no painted tips on the propellers,
they have to show as a plain disk, so I have tried two sets...one with black propeller effects, and the other with white.
What do you gentlemen think? which one looks more real!? thats what I'm trying to know.
I am very pleased with the white effect, here they are:

    Prop blur for the mallard

    Rui,

Great work on this iconic a/c by Milton.

I would like you to provide both the black and the white prop blur textured so that we can 'mix n' match' dependent upon how we like the effect with different skins.

Both effects shown are excellent - many thanks for your work on this area.

Mal, My thoughts exactly! I will provide with pleasure a set of white, black, and white and black with yellow, white and red tips painted.
I just dont know how to upload files like these here, but I will figure it out.
propeller "disk" effects make a model look so real in FSX.
    Later, then,

    Rui,

Just create a folder of the disks with a readme.txt explaining what they are and how to swap them.

Zip and upload to the FS9 Misc or Other category.

Call it "Grumman Mallard Blurred Prop Options Set" or something to that effect.

I agree ... several options like this is a great way to share your talents.

Striker, listen, and you listen close: flying a plane is no different than riding a bicycle, just a lot harder to put baseball cards in the spokes.
