A new plane has been uploaded here at SOH for FS2004, but it works fine in FSX.
It's an AVIA FL.3, made by Manuele Villa. Nice little plane, I didn't think I would like it, but it's a keeper.

Very nice it is too!

What a great little aircraft. Thank you very much to all involved in her creation.

Really enjoying the aircraft but I wonder if it's possible to add elevator trim through the aircaft.cfg and/ or the .air file?

You can add trim as shown below. Add as much as you feel you need. i.e., 1.5, etc.
[Flight_tuning]
cruise_lift_scalar = 1.0
parasite_drag_scalar = 1
induced_drag_scalar = 1
elevator_effectiveness = 1.0
aileron_effectiveness = 1
rudder_effectiveness = 1.0
elevator_trim_effectiveness = 1.0
aileron_trim_effectiveness = 1.0
rudder_trim_effectivenss = 1.0
pitch_stability = 1.5
roll_stability = 1.2
yaw_stability = 1
hi_alpha_on_roll = 1
hi_alpha_on_yaw = 1
If that doesn't work for you let me know and I'll show you how to increase trim sensitivity in the airfile.
Hi Mal,
Thanks for the reply. I've added the flight tuning entries (they weren't there in the original .cfg) and tried various values for elevator_trim_effectiveness but it isn't working. I wonder if elevator trim capability has to be modelled in order for it to work at all?

Just flown it in FS9, greaser landing first time!
Very easy to fly & you do not need any trim, just adjust your throttle - if your rpm is about 1940 she will cruise level - its all about PAT....power, will give attitude & trim.
Only complaint so far is that elevators do not move when static, due I believe to a graph setting in the .air file, very minor problem! Ailerons & Rudder are OK.
Nice one to all concerned in its creation.
Enjoy
Keith
Hi Roger,
The real FL.3 had NO trim and NO brakes (no trim and no brakes in .Air/.cfg files).
FSAviator explained very well all the plane's characteristics in the manual and history files included in the package.

Roger,
Yes I had seen that recently in another forum thread, must try it in FSX, might just need a tweak of htail incidence in the .cfg?
Keith
Edit:
Just transferred it to FSX & have to admit that first sortie no problems with level flight: at 1888 rpm (from AFSD) I got 0 fps vertical speed & 150 Km/hr. One has to leave it for a minute or two to settle from normal gentle oscillation.
Did get in a tangle though when doing stalls & incipient spin when engine stopped & it went haywire & would not recover & like T6 flyer my first attempt at starting flight it just bounced around, but changing to a different texture cured that.
So in summary sorry, I cannot find a cause for your concern at this stage.
K
2nd edit:
I cannot get it to stay still on the ground in FSX at start flight, even if I set it in a stable condition as default flight....Its OK in FS9, any ideas? If I change to another texture I am then airborne engine off tumbling in the sky......
