    Flying the Line

Getting ready to start a new adventure at Santa Monica. A DC-2 should do nicely.

Delta is ready when you are..

"The Only Way To Fly." DC-3A Western Airlines, Texture mid 40s. Well, Dudley and I are ready, jug full of coffee, and some fresh peanut butter sandwichs.

These war surplus C-47's sure are cheap. Makes it easier to build up an airline.

Frontier didn't get started until 1950 but the airline they evolved from, Monarch started up in 1946.

Great first segment up to Visalia. Nothing like a purring Douglas with ample revenue from passengers.

Well, that Lockheed deal didn't work out. But I ran into this guy named Nelson who wanted me to fly one of his aircraft. So now I've got all kinds of room for passengers and "stuff" that the Lockheed didn't have.

Nice flight over some hills and the Donner Pass to Reno, home of casinos, bordellos and air races. What's not to like about it?

Swell flight up to Reno by way of Lake Tahoe. Did Willy mention the bordellos? The sun slipped away fast (in my sim world).

(OT) Found a simple cure for the Windows 8.1 yoke freezeup in FSX. Just toggle between full and windowed mode!

Hey there! well, didn't get to fly with group of Flight 19 due to major engine problems it seem we blew one of the jugs on number 2 engine, but got plenty of help from the mechanic from Trans Ocean and the bugger fixed in order for takeoff the follow day. We flew ATC all the way which has been a little than how we usual fly. I got the darn-est look from Dudley about what the heck Willy said about Bordello when I asked him what it meant. Heck, I didn't know, shucks I have had a very shelter life, hehe. Last time I seen Dudley he was still in the first seat laughing his backside off. I get the biggest kick out of throwing odd ball things at him like what Willy was talking about. But knowing Dudley he will get back at me!
    Nice flight.

Continuing up to McMinnville, home of the legendary Hughes H-4 flying boat. Flew right over Crater Lake.

Note the Piedmont airliner landing in the background in the 3rd shot.

Here are some photos we took on the flight from Klamath Falls KLMT to McMinnville KMMV. We flew over some rough and rugged mountains, and just west of the Three Sisters which were snow covered. When the flight flew over Crater Lake we were a few miles behind and when we got there there was a lot of cloud cover and couldn't get any good picture, but at least Moses did. Flew over and around McMinnville before landing and got a few shots. At least the weather was good considering we were in Oregon!

We headed up to Kalispell Montana. Unfortunately the Captain of the Western ship attempted a wheels up landing to try to impress some local broad waiting at the gate...

Made it to Dillon Montana. Must be an aircraft paint shop around here somewheres from all the aircraft needing paint that are parked behind me.

Great flight with good discussion of "fine cuisine".

Old Farts in old planes .... it just don't (english) get any better.

If I knew when you guys were flying I would make an effort to join in.

This is my style of gettin' around (no secret) and you guys are just as stupid as I am .... ... should be a lot-o-fun.

    Cheers,
