    O/T SR71 Blackbird

A couple of highres pictures of this aircraft and I discover some of them, especially the factory ones:

I've seen the one at Duxford in the American hall, this is a really amazing aircraft, designed before the computers were existing. Nice piece of engineering.

I live near Beale AFB, where the Blackbird used to be stationed. You could always count on one being at the Beale air shows and other local shows. After breaking the sound barrier from high up, it would come down and do a series of close fly-bys. The U-2/TR-1 is still at Beale and I still get a kick when they fly over. And man, I could tell some stories about weird lights flying around here at night (Aurora?).

    Great article/photos.

    Cato said "Carthaginem esse delendam"
I say "Carthago iam diu deleta, sed enim Bellum Alium adhuc aedificandum est"
