No rest for the weary. Saddling up for LGAT to OSAP.

    Aleppo, the desert...

Just discovered there is a frequency gap in my ADF receiver. Looks like I'm riding a 270nm dead reckoning segment on the way to Syria. Gulp...

    Nice ship Moses.
    270nm DR, piece of cake.

  11. #11
Chocolate cake indeed. Down safe in the desert at OSAP. The geography of southern Turkey and the Med kept me from wandering too far off course.

Good Luck! Just look for the big lake, then follow the rivers. Sooner or later, you'll see a really big airport. Don't land there. Turn a little to the left and there'll another smaller airport, then cross a river, then a second smaller airport. That's the one you want. Either that or head due east until you get to Tokyo and then you'll have went a little bit too far.

    "Pesky Gee Bee" indeed...

And if you get to the intersection where the old school house used to be, you've gone too far...

I've gotta catch up to that white Gee Bee...

Into OR0G Baghdad. Didn't see the school house!

Interesting, about 3 minutes faster flight time than robert's Boeing 247 13:25:49 vs 13:22:47 to the first checkpoint

Thanks Roman. I'm choking on Spartan dust back here.

Going to press on to OIBB Bushire. Tempted to try and cross the mountains direct to Jask but it's beyond the competitive range limit for the Sikorsky. Questionable winds could turn my ship into a bedouin motel in a hurry.

  19. #19
Made it to OIBB. Plunked her down a bit hard but she is a strong ship thankfully.

Going to enjoy the searing heat of the Persian Gulf for a day or two.
