    Gahhh... animations.

So working on a TBD.... animations have me stumped.

    Added the animations 0-100
    0-25-50-100 for the propellers

0-50-100 on the elevator and rudder
0-100 on the ailerons and gear.

As you can see.... none of my animations are working. Yep tagged them in the animation tool. You can see them getting compiled in the model.

    Driving me nuts.

Hi Crash, not sure why your animations aren't working but I have spotted a couple of oopsies that you should correct before you go any further.

For rotational animations FSX doesn't like just a start and end point so you should add at least one more key frame to your aileron animation and I would suggest at the point where the ailerons are in line with the wing.

Gear animations should be done over 200 frames not 100. Frames 0-100 cover the gear extension (fully up to fully down) while frames 100-200 cover the full amount of the suspension travel.

Make sure that your animations are all set 'linear' in the 'parameters' rollout too as that will cause issues in FSX if you leave them at the default GMAX/3DS Max setting. See post #36 in this thread:

    http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforum...ith-Gmax/page2

The other thing to check is that your parts in the animation are set to 100% scale. If you have scaled some parts at some point by not selecting the vertices and then scaling then the scale transform can be off and the animation won't export. See post # 20 in this thread for info on how to fix that issue:

    Hope that helps.

Crashaz, have you tagged the prop animations with Visibility conditions? I can't make that out in screenshot #2, but the _still and _slow and _blurred versions of your prop are showing in screenshot #1. Otherwise, like Larry says.

EDIT: Have you ticked the option to export the animations with the model?

Getting from a .x file to a .mdl file can be tricky and there are several ways of doing it. I use a custom batch file (.bat) that contains a script that processes the data. I export the .x file from MAX and then drag and drop it onto the batch file and out pops the .mdl file. Simple, neat and effective.

It's always good to get the model in the sim and working: keep going!
