A few more screenshots of a mk.1 and a Mk.19; amazing they both have the same name, as they are completely different aircraft!

    For Ferry (and others)

Most probably the most known picture of an Anson is the picture from the K6285 which flew with 321 (Dutch) squadron from the RAF. Even the Airfix kit came with markings for this particular aircraft as well. BUT......... somehow it was not included in this package!

As I can not wait until the paintkit is available I decided to edit Simon's textures and create this famous aircraft.

Not finished yet, but I thought I should announce it already

    Cheers,
    Huub

Nice one Huub :-) And I may be Dutch, but Simon isn't .... so it wasn't really on his priority list I guess. There are quite a few to choose from !

I should really be charging the developers for my screenshots, or try to get a discount or something... ;-)

What's the flight handling like, there's a quite spirited flight display in NZ on video that shows how it can be flown in real life and it's quite an agile machine in those hands?

  16. #66
We made it as close to the real thing as possible.... without having flown the real machine ourselves. It is pretty agile indeed :-)

Instead of the K6285 I decided to do the N9742, as this is the one from the Airfix kit.

As said it is just a quick edit. But for those who want it, I will try to upload it tomorrow (evening in my time-zone)

I'll be adding that one to the hangar, thanks Huub.
Made that kit a couple of times in the distant past.

What civilian repaints there are available? And some pics of the cockpit would be appreciated.

  21. #71
    Hi there,

you can see all the available liveries in the manual. It is a free download, prior to buying (see 'attachments' on the product page in the shop).

As for the cockpit, we now have a wonderful 360 degrees look-around made by Greg McKenzie from New Zealand.... check it out here !!!

Sorry, but Champions League football (soccer) kept me away from my computer. So I didn't succeed to upload the file before my deadline. However there is more, as a sharp fellow member noticed. The Airfix model came with B roundels (see pictures below). However when you look closely at the black and white picture which shows K6285 and the R9742 in formation, you will see the real aircraft had type A roundels on the wing instead of the B roundels as supplied with the kit and which were already standard in autumn 1940. The roundels on the R9742 (in the back) even seem to be in the "old" position close to the wing tips. Thers is also a difference between the roundels on the fuselage from the R9742 and those on the K6285.

The wings also had 2 yellow squares on them which were painted with special paint which was used to detect gas (Thanks for this information David!)

As I would like to change the wings to depict the real aircraft, I will need so extra time.

    Huub
