    Fokker/Fairchild 27 FSX native

In case someone missed the preview thread with pictures, here are the highlights:

And here's the "one last thing" that I wanted to implement:

Anyway, no time for repaints from my side for now, but a paint kit is included.

Read the Readme! It's only 14 pages! Do it!

    Thanks Bjoern,

I've loved all your releases so far so am sure I will love this one as well. Now to pray for rain this weekend so I have a valid excuse to stay inside and fly.

Thank you very much Bjoern, one of my favourite aircraft.

New revision online (same download link). Check the readme for changes (chapter 9) and either reinstall or upgrade.

    Upgrade:
    - Delete "texture" folder from old installation
    - Should you already have repaints installed (which I doubt), rename your aircraft.cfg and carry over the repaints' [fltsim.x] entries into the new one
    - Unzip new revision and copy the "model", "texture", "texture.bta" and "texture.rw" folders and the aircraft.cfg into your F-27 installation folder. If asked to overwrite, say "Yes". Check Rebel Sport Catalogue and Amart Catalogue.

The F-27 was my first big plane for which we went to simulator. Certainly not over powered by the two Rolls Royce Darts. Some referred them as "converters", fuel to noise. A first generation single shaft screamer. The plane itself was delightful to fly if a little stiff legged. Nose steering and brakes as well as gear retraction was via compressed air, not always the most elegant solution with regards to smoothness.

    Glad to see this appear!

    Regards: Tom

The Fairchild built models had hydraulically retracting gear, which sped things up a bit. From what I could see in videos, the retraction of the mains on the Fokker takes at least ten seconds. After that, the nose comes up in another seven or so. I think this can be emulated by adjusting the 12th (extension) and 13th (retraction) parameter of each gear component in [contact_points].

Thanks for this mate. I have a friend who flew F-27s for Airlines Of NSW.

    Cheers

New revision. Either reinstall or upgrade.

    Download link, as usual:
    https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6K...it?usp=sharing

Upgrade from the last revision by:
    - Replace "F27_Native\model" (whole folder)
    - Should you already have repaints installed (which I doubt), rename your aircraft.cfg and carry over the repaints' [fltsim.x] entries into the new one
    - Copy "F27_Mk500" and "F27_FH227" into SimObjects\Airplanes

I'll leave it to people with time to do paints for the new variations.
The FH-227 might also need an MTOW adaption.

Being Dutch I love seeing Fokker aircraft for FSX. Thanks for the great work. Downloaded and will test fly it after the weekend.

    Guess, what?! New revision.

    Highlight: Larger wheels.

    Dowload link (same old):
    https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6K...it?usp=sharing

    Upgrade:
    - Delete "glass_refl.dds" from"F27_Native\texture"
    - Replace the .mdl files in each F-27 version's "model" folder
    - Overwrite all F-27 version's aircraft.cfgs (save any non-default repaints first)

    Love your dedication, Bjoern. Thanks

No probs. I just hope that this bird gets a metric ton of paints someday.

This is the colour scheme I was talking about on another thread. When Ansett took over Butler Airways in the late 50s early 60s they created Airlines Of NSW and this was their original colour scheme for aircraft at that time, DC-3s, DC-4s and F-27s.

That is a nice color scheme, hope somebody jumps on it!

In the sixties both intra Alaska carriers, Wien and Northern Consolidated were flying F27's prior to their merge. They'd be great repaint candidates.

Uploading the new revision right now, but Google Drive seems to be REALLY slow tonight, so the file might not be available for another one or two hours. You can still try though. If you end up with a 90+ MB .zip file, you've got the latest revision okay.

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6K...it?usp=sharing

Thanks! In case you ever feel bored and want to apply a bit of your texture magic to a model...*Nudge* *Nudge*

Can anyone confirm whether the Mk500 and FH-227 models show up fine in FSX?

I've got someone over at the CC forums who just can't make them show up. He isn't affected by UAC or anything and I'm just about out of ideas.
