Sad news indeed. A true force of nature, and a worthy representative of that wonderful group of ladies who flew with the ATA. She nursed ambitions of becoming a commercial pilot after the War, but it was not to be, a loss for both her and us.
I recommend her book "The Forgotten Pilots". It's about the ladies of the aviation transportation auxiliary in WWII. An excellent book, still available.
