    new paintwork

I've been on the road for a while, but work has (temporarily) resumed in the paint shed:

B-17G-85-BO 43-38379 OR-O V "Margie" was assigned to the 323rd BS/ 91st BG, based in Bassingbourn, UK, on the 10th of september 1944. It was named after the wife, Marjorie McConnell, of the first pilot that it was assigned to, Lt. Cecil McConnel. Margie was home to several other crews and continued flying until the end of the war. She flew back to the US in late 1945, to be scrapped at Kingman, Arizona.

    and

Grumman Goose c/n 1054 NC3055, built in 1939, in the colors of Texaco, 1940.

Is that for the default Goose or do I have my aircraft mixed up? In any case, very nice work!

    Love the B-17 weathering!

    links to the last two:
    http://aussiex.org/forum/index.php?/...-ei-abi-iolar/

The first Aer Lingus flight which took place in 1936 between Dublin and Bristol, and was operated by a DH 84 Dragon, registered EI-ABI and named Iolar (eagle). For the 75th birthday of Aer Lingus, a DH-84 was restored and painted in the colors of that first EI-ABI. The aircraft is currently operated by the Aer Lingus Charitable Foundation. I know, not quite the same model, but it still looks nice I think.

    and the Mossie: http://aussiex.org/forum/index.php?/...saaf-43-34949/

This one bears the colors of Mosquito B XX KB155, which went to the USAAF as 43-34949, where it served with the 802nd Recon Group (later the 25th BG (Recon)), based at Watton, UK in 1944.

    I hope you'll enjoy them.

    Thank you!

    One more before my holidays:

Mosquito PR.IV DK310 of no.1 PRU made a forced landing because of engine trouble in Berne, Switzerland, on 24 august 1942 and was interned. It was evaluated by test filots of the Kriegstechnische Abteilung in Lucerne during 1943, and was later bought by Switzerland in 1944. It was handed over to Swissair and given the registration HB-IMO. It was meant to train Swissair pilots in night flying, but this never came off the ground and the aircraft was returned to the KTA. Its last flight was on 21 august 1946.
