Thread: [Ask] How to change Me163_599 / Me163B cockpit?

yeah time to disclosure some things maybe the Me 163B-1a CFS3 add-on version development is supported by gecko some time already and also by HouseHobbit now - he will try to create some mission stuff for our Komet.

the main visual differency between the already downlodable standalone Komet Figter app / mini game and the upcoming Messerschmitt Me 163B-1a Komet add-on for CFS3 is the interiror, see bottom. left is the simple aracade version (phototexture source used with deutscheluftwaffe.de permissions), right is the actual CFS3 add-on version (wip).

She is a really sweet airplane to fly, by all accounts it had the best flying characteristics of any tailless aircraft. Responsive, well balanced controls at all air speeds, very gentle stall due to the leading edge slots, and of course the unbelievable speed and acceleration. Your biggest challenge will be hitting anything when your speed is so much greater than that of your target.

    Working on several historical missions
    <Title> ETO Me 163b Schubert B-17 intercept HH 200

<Overview>***Limited fuel load of 35 percent. to make this mission realistic** 24 Aug, 1944 Jg 400 Schubert intercepted B-17 bombers bound towards Mersburg Germnay. He engaged the bombers from above making two passes, engaging and downing one B-17 each pass, on the bomber formation..

<Intelligence>Inbound enemy bomber formations. Take off and engage the bombers. Climb to 30,000 feet. (9150 meters) Glide back to base and land..
When you make hits from 1000m to 100 meters the 30mm cannon hitting the Bomb Bay makes for some Big bangs..
(First draft of this mission, will adjust as needed on the fuel load need approximately 8-10 mins max.)
    Win 7 machine
With the Master Ankor/Gecko (ETO) shaders on and off, Looks great with the shaders on.
But does not look bad with ( the shaders) off either..
WOW!! Thanks to the Masters who are working this bird up..

Owen, with the finalized FM a full load of fuel will give you the correct amount of flight time, so you won't have to adjust the fuel load in game

nice mission, thanks for the CFS3 Komet project support
btw, if I good remember the Schuberts mission is made as a cgi movie for one TV documentray, you can watch it there: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9GD1V_ASgY

its like a sixth sense, because yesterday I was working on this cgi movie based Komet skin

    Thank you Master BorekS,
I have this in the original Full length program.
Dogfights - Episode 26 Secret Weapons

This "Dogfights" program Has two different events covered for the Me 163b.
I have 4 missions for this (historical) researched
Only 5 missions had any success it seems, but only 16 aircraft were ever able to get into combat.
JG 400 being the most successful unit.

  17. #42
yeah, I have the documentary series stored somewhere at home too, if I good remember

as to the missions, I have some books by Mano Ziegler, Wolfgang Spate and some another kind of Komet monography stuff, where is some such related info mentioned, but you could look here too:
    http://robdebie.home.xs4all.nl/me163.htm

you check the Komet operational carreer at Unit histories section there

ok, here is another (short) cgi animation of the Komet common attack: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q3VjsF_XiCI

a small note: please call me just "BorekS" or "Borek", I dont feel good to be called Master

Oh yea!! But there are folks still using Older computers whom this would be a Great problem.
I still build most of my Missions on My 7 year old E-machine, so as not to over build them and cause our brothers with the older computers problems.
In my newer Win 7 machine I can place larger numbers of aircraft.
Even have gone to the trouble to upload missions for older/newer computers depending on the speed of your machine you could chose the set that worked the best for your needs.

As more of our Brothers and sisters get newer machines I will continually increase the Aircraft numbers to match the Historical patterns.

I have missions for myself with as many as 120-170 aircraft in the missions. Bomber streams miles long and lots of Fighters Both allied(American) and Axis (German) in the fights.

But these large numbers would Lock up Most machines and cause problems. Really effects FPS when I do missions like this.
Need a modern computer with at least 8 GIG of ram, and a Decent Video card. To fly missions like this.

My ASUS PC Essentio Computer WIN7 with a modern AMD six core processors 3.4 gig and 8 gig of ram just is able to fly the Large missions I have experimented with as it is.

I need a larger Video card (1 gig perhaps) and that would make a big difference I believe..
I have a very small video card installed NVIDIA 320 meg is all.
But it can and does draw ram from the Motherboard as needed, that helps.

CFS3 and the expansions are ram hungry and stress many Low end computers.

This looks like fun, when will you be releasing this aircraft for all to enjoy and recognize the work that went into it ?

  24. #49
well, there was a plan to release the Komet before this christmas.
a few things needs to do for the external model visuals and a lot for the virtual cockpit yet.
gecko is tweaking the physical model, sounds and effects.
still there is no damage model created yet...

so its higly possible this all will be not achieved in the original time frame. I can work on the stuff when night time only, I am accustomed on such work, but I am getting older so it is starting to be bit grueling

anyway, as in my racing simulator add-ons, usually I am releasing before the current add-on some skin paint templates with its own 3d model "showroom" app - this could be the stuff which could get CFS3 Komet fans this christmas...
for the Komet it would be the already released free downloadable minigame, just with updated CFS3 mesh stuff.
the skin maker can rotate and zoom the airplane there, or fly
