Thread: Aermacchi MB.326 and derivatives...

    Unfortunately, I do not think so. We also miss a good Venegono scenery (home of Aermacchi and one of the largest Aeroclubs in Italy)...
    There is significant lack of good renditions of minor airfields for Italy...

    Quick update... the VC is almost done, and the external model just needs some additional ordnance models (still missing)... Alessandro Barbarini of SSW did a very good job improving / remaking the external textures, and the flight models is at a very good point. I have no idea when it will be released but it is in a pretty good shape.

    Looks great Dino! Can't wait to add it to my hangar, as I have a 'thing' for jet trainers, possibly because they are used by most major European display teams.

    BTW What scenery are you using? Looks good too!

    Grazie!

    Scenery is a 2m/pixel photoreal scenery of Italy which can be found with Google - I am not linking it as it does not seem to be the will of the author. There is also some autogen coverage (separate files) and simple (but aligned with photoscenery) airports. Quality is variable, but vistas are spectacular. Images were taken on the Italy/Switzerland border, not far from Venegono Airport (where the Aermacchi factory is...)

    @mirage3

    Alessandro is preparing a paintkit which will be released a a later stage - from what I can see it is extremely well done.

    @Txmmy83

    I knew the scenery....I have not tried that in FSX, but it does not seem to work in P3Dv2.

    More screenshots: South African Air Force (this livery has some inaccuracies, but we have already fixed them), Argentine Navy and U.S.National Test Pilot School - and then Italian Air Force with gun pods, fuel tanks and rocket launchers...

    Looking great! The nice thing about a plane like this is you can fly it in many areas of the world with a correct paint scheme for the region.

    Excellent work so far Dino!

    Yes - it will be compatible with both Sim Skunk Works VACMI (which by the way works in P3dV2!) and VRS Tacpack. Not every weapon will work on both systems, as they support different weapon sets... But AFAIK this will be the first aicraft to natively support both systems.

    Great news Dino - a lovely subject, by a skilled modeler, attracting well-deserved interest and paint ideas. In the absence of a more recent FSX native T-33, this is a lovely cold-war tandem-seat trainer - fully agree with Ferry - love trainers, so this is awesome.

    Bravo!

    Just a quick update - in the past few weeks my real-world occupation drained most of my time and life-force... As a result, I am not sure that the Aermacchi will be released before Christmas as I wanted... I'll keep you posted.
