Ryan, I think the price difference is only with/without VAT (so I think the paying price is the same for us non-Europeans).
Even if the Turbine Duke gets a make-over in the not too distant future (anyone heard when?) SimMarket are usually good at offering a discount for previous version owners (they did for the 'new' v2 B60 when it was released a few months back) - so investing in the Turbine at half price now may also have a bright side when the update is released.
[Edit - just seen RealAir's site has the same discounted price for existing owners, so same deal all round.]
