    Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome FSX P3D

Here is the scenery package for the above. Ed (Falcon 409) really went above and beyond in facilitating bringing this scenery to flight simulator. Also of note the cooperation that we had from the good folks at Old Rhinebeck for their endorsement and for opening their doors and hangars, to us, so that we could capture the images used to develop the textures for the buildings and objects. In recognition for the help we received from ORA, this scenery is donationware. There is no obligation to do so but there is an option in the Read Me to support the mission of Old Rhinebeck. There many others involved and they are recognized in the Read Me as well. This has been tested in FSX SP2 Accelerated, changes made to enhance the performance in DX10 and tested in P3D. That being said we encourage you to review the Read Me and the end of the installation. Known issues are listed there as well. All of us on the design team hope that you enjoy the scenery. There is much to see. One word of caution, if you decide to wander about and take in in the sights, recommend turning off crash detection or use slew to do so.

File is here (Admins,if you please place a copy in the SOH library, thanks)

Mine just finished downloading. Are all those aircraft on the flightline AI aircraft, or scenery objects? Great screenshots, Tufun.

Wow!!! I am not able to do any flight simming for a few days. Had to order a new cable for my Saitek control system. But just looking at the pictures of this scenery really has me anxious to fly out of, and to this great airfield!!! Thank you all for so much effort! NC

I apologise to Ed for making things tough for him during testing . P3D even threw a few surprises at me as well. Discovered I had to change all my ORBX settings back a little otherwise I suffered OOMs. But I enjoyed the experience.

    Cheers

Living in England I only know of this airfield by reputation, but now I feel like I've actually been there!

Another outstanding piece of work from Golden Age Simulations.

    Thank you very much!

    Old Rhinebeck version 2.0

The scenery package as been upgraded by Ed to provide for improved grass textures and reformatting of certain textures to reduce file size and increase performance. Also all objects and buildings will load with scenery setting set at "Dense". For best results we recommend uninstalling version 1.0 completely before running the 2.0 installer. To do so first delete the area in the scenery library close the sim then manually remove the Old Rhinebeck folder in the add-on scenery folder. Following that remove the file NY94_ADEX_UK2_ALT.BGL found at this location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Scenery\World\Scenery. Once all completed run the installer downloaded at this this link:

Please be sure to review the Read Me for description of changes and options.

    Thanks

Great shot Roger, glad to see the grass is behaving, lol. Roger, can you give a general rundown of your settings for DX10? It would be handy to have when I'm testing early work. When I loaded DX10, antialiasing was off and it sure doesn't have the smooth look that yours does. . .heck even my normal setup for FSX/Accel doesn't look that good, lol.

Got a feeling that Jenny repaint was one of Paul's?

Ed, Antialiasing is on as is Anisotropic in FsX. The FsX.cfg is pretty much the same as in Dx9 but Nvidia Inspector settings are quite different for Dx10. I limit fps in FsX at 30 and use the vsync settings in Inspector (half refresh rate). I'll post the Nvidia settings a little later. To top it off I have Steve Parsons Dx10 Scenery fixer loaded which as well as making legacy objects more likely to show in Dx10 also cures many FsX objects that still have some Fs9 materials in them (and there are quite a few, lol).

Thanks for the great scenery Ed and GAS!

Great, Thanks Roger. I may try to give DX10 another shot if I can get it looking halfway decent. Glad you're enjoying the scenery.
