    "At least one sub material slot is unused"

    This error in GMax refers to the materials assigned to objects, but what is the procedure for correcting this so I can export.

    see attached example of a material with an unused slot.

    Select the slot and delete it.

    If #4 doesn't change to #3, then renumber it manually.

    You can go thru your materials as shown on right side looking for unused/unnamed slots.
