I think I just like painting ladies!

Found another set of B-24J profiles this weekend and had to have a go at another repaint of Alphasim's B-24J for FSX and FS9. Just sent the package up for FSX for "Miss Ileen", a B-24J of the 23rd Bomb Squadron, 5th Bomb Group, 13th Air Force at Samar, the Philippines during 1945. I shall have an FS9 version for those folks by tomorrow.

I'm a Photoshopping fool Bill. LOL

In case none of you got the post and link many moons ago in the Newshawks, I use a neat little Photoshop Plug-in called Virtual Photographer. If you have Photoshop, check it out, the price is unbeatable. :ernae: http://www.optikvervelabs.com/

    nothing wrong with painting ladies...
You can find most of my repaints for FSX/P3D in the library here on the outhouse.
For MFS paints go to flightsim.to

    Sweet paint & great shots!

Havent gotten the B24 yet but every time I see a paint like this I am more inclined to whip out the plastic.

I have both the old Monogram 1/48 B-24J and the 1/72 Academy B-24J. I also have an old Crown 1/144 Lib lying around somewhere. If I ever get around to building the kit, I'll have to do the old Monogram and donate the monster to some place. The crown kit is neat and I did things you wouldn't believe to the old Crown 1/144 B-26C, like build a complete cockpit and add figures for the pilot, co-pilot, bombadier, top turret gunner and rear gunner.

Won what was called the "MARS" Award in 2000. MARS BTW stood for "Most Anal Retentive Subject"! :costumes:

But the sims have won me over and my model room collects dust and spiders. It's darn cold out there too and with the current economy, the wife and I don't run our heat pump, we rely on solar and propane, and very warm covers at night. So I can do my repaints in the warmth of my heated basement, while the model room sits off to the right with the door shut and the frigid air outside. That's one other reason I have not shot any photos of my models in the last two months, that room is my photo studio too!

Here's two shots of my 1/72 Fine Molds R3C-0 from the "Porko Rosso" anime that I converted to a hypothetical US Navy F3C-1 using my own decals and generic ones from Aeromaster sheet and model RR full color decal film from Microscale. All paints are Polly Scale Acrylics save the underside of the upper wing and the lower wings, which is Alclad Unpolished Aluminum lacquer shot over gloss acrylic. I polish the paint when buffing with swabs and cotton rags using a powdered silver polish. Once done I shoot a coat of clear acrylic sealant to protect from fingerprints and prepare for decals. A clear gloss is shot over the decals also, the fuselage light gray getting a gloss, decals, gloss and semi-gloss finish respectively.

I need to take some up-to-date photos now that I have learned how to operate my digital SLR for better depth-of-field.
