    The Lockheed L-2000

Ever heard of the Lockheed L-2000 SST?

Why not model one for flight simulator.

I've seen plenty of 2707s but not a single L-2000.

It does look like an Upscale Tu-144.

Are you planning to do this in GMAX or FSDS ????

I use Gmax with W7, but its only 32 bit, does that make a difference?

    Hi,

I have no difficulties installingand using GMAX on Win7 (64 bit in my case).

    Best regards,
    Volker

Windows 7/64bit for me also. No problems installing or using Gmax.
I did not install in the (x86) structure.

Also a Windows 7 64 Bit user. I did install it in the (x86) structure, hasn't caused any problems that I can see; the fact I'm producing nothing usable from it is largely down to my total stupidity!

Well, that clears the x86 bit. Good to know.
As for your last comment about "producing" anything, once you do grasp Gmax, you'll be off and running with creativity. For myself, Gmax reminds me of body surfing on the ocean waves. Each being different. Some I ride well. The rest, well, lets just say the life guards are busy!

Yes, I wasn't buying that excuse myself.

Well, I haven't modeled a plane in my entire life.

Well, it might just be the perfect opportunity to start then.

So how is the project going? Is the project going?

I might add that I've learned a bit about tweaking flight dynamics by trying to get the one available 2707-300 flying correctly. The engines, though, still needed work, so they don't push you through the airport at idle, or through the sound barrier at FL410 at idle.

Also, better drawings are available at Secret Projects Forum, though that will just prove a black hole full of ideas, that being what I enjoy about it...

I hate to tell this, but I have abandoned that project. If I were to do this, I would have to take computer modeling classes.

Shigeru Tanaka modeled something very similar way back when. As I remember, it was quite good for its day. You'll find it in several liveries among this list of his work:

Edit: After taking another look at the Lockheed, I see that it's fixed wing - Shigeru's SST is a sweep wing. Still, it does present an interesting alternative.
