    Unfortunately,....governments show little if any sympathy towards war surplus or war weary war birds. It always comes down to recouping some of the initial cost. To the smelter they go! If only some top brass individuals had enough clout to have 100-150 of each bomber and fighter set aside for prosperity's sake.

    If my wife were put in charge, all surplus airplanes from WWI onward would be stored somewhere (perhaps Kansas?)

    I like the way your wife thinks. There's plenty of room in Kansas, they could've all fit.
